“Another Great Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

We stayed at this lovely bed and breakfast for the fourth time in early April 2013. Once again Larry and Helen did an outstanding job of providing an enjoyable time for us. The room was wonderfully furnished and spotlessly clean. Helen prepared a delicious breakfast featuring scrambled eggs, sausage and German apple pancakes. Larry sang and played beautiful music on the piano for us. He also shared some funny stories and answered questions about the area and Amish life. We learned who was at our table, where they were from and what they planned to do with their day. If you are looking for a great bed and breakfast that's quiet, romantic and located in a unique area of the country, then the Lamplight Inn is for you.

Room Tip: Book early if you want the room without the jacuzzi bath which is a little cheaper.

We stayed Valentine weekend of 2013, and had a wonderful time. We've been married over 45 years and felt like newlyweds. The owners made us feel welcome and of course the Inn is beautiful. Even in the winter it had beautiful views of the country side and the buggy's going by. Thank you for such a nice stay. Hope to be back someday.

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful bed and breakfast. Rooms are beautiful and the whole house is just beautiful ! Surrounding area is peaceful with nice views of rolling hills. Within walking distance to Berlin's main street filled with quaint shops.

Stayed one night at the lovely bed and breakfast. There were far too many rules and regs for us. The innkeepers made all of the guests eat breakfast at the same time which was too early for sleepers and too late for travelers. There was also a prayer at the beginning of the meal which I found inappropriate as the innkeepers did not know what anyone's religious beliefs were. There was far too much preaching for my taste.

We stayed at the Lamplight Inn on a Friday and Saturday night in April, 2012. The Inn is located about 1/4 mile from the center of the village of Berlin - with its multitude of antique, arts and craft, and curio shops - so it was an easy stroll to shopping and restaurants. The Inn's location in eastern Holmes County puts it in the heart of the Ohio Amish communities and the numerous small towns that cater to their way of life. As avid bicyclists, we took advantage of the Inn's proximity to the county seat town of Millersburg and the Holmes County Trail which winds its way from Killbuck to Fredericksburg. Our room was very nice and quiet with access to a wrap around porch which offered lovely views of the country to the north. Breakfast on both mornings was delicious and the Inn Keeper entertained the guests with stories and song during a portion of the meal. It was definitely a place worthy of a return visit.

This beautiful Inn is a great way to finish a day after enjoying the beauty and simplicity of Amish Country. Like another reviewer, we enjoyed the 2 entrances to the rooms. We were in the Vintage Charm room and it was amazing. The views from the wrap around porch were so pretty and it was quiet (except the clip clop of the occasional horse and buggy). Would like to see this place in all its flowering glory in the spring! Larry's singing and piano playing were just the cherry on top!! We have never really been comfortable in Bed & Breakfasts, but this place is the exception! Go check it out!!

The Lamplight Inn is delightful in many ways. I appreciated the convenience of two entrances per room, one to the common space and another to the wrap-around porch and parking. The decor is tastefully country. It's neat as a pin with no wear and tear. The view from one end of the inn is serene and restful, rolling hills, pastures of cows and horses. Despite being quite close to Berlin's main drag the night we were there it was quiet and cool enough to sleep with the windows open. The breakfast food was excellent. Do take the Inn's publicity seriously, the innkeeper does sings quite well and pounds out his favorite tunes during breakfast. The day we were there when he wasn't playing he managed the conversation. So if you like B&Bs except for the part about meeting new people over breakfast this is your place. I understand that if you wish to skip the commraderie and the entertainment there's one package that includes breakfast in your room. If you think you might enjoy conversations with some of the world travelers the inn attracts, I'd suggest hanging out on the porch.
