I stayed at this hotel, as part of a Convention group (a.k.a. Girls Weekend), for three nights and four days in early August of 2008. I was extremely happy with the hotel staff, rooms, location, and amentities. Check in went very smoothly. The room and bathroom were very clean. When some members of our group asked the front desk to please change our room assignments so we could have adjoining rooms, they did so with a smile. The bed was comfy and the room had a nice microwave and mini fridge. I was much too busy to watch TV, so I can't comment on that. The hotel staff was very quick to respond to any requests that we made for extra towels, pillows, etc. The pool (partly indoor, partly outdoor) was super nice. Although another reviewer mentioned that the pool didn't have towels, that didn't bother anyone in my group because we had all brought our own beach size towels. The jaccuzzi was also very nice, and it also appeared to be very clean to me. The hotel staff was very helpful whenever we asked them for directions. The hotel is located near several places to eat including Benihana's, Houlihan's, Bob Evan's, Wendy's, etc. So you can find something in a variety of price ranges. There were also some opportunities for shopping nearby. The meeting rooms that our group used were also well appointed. Our group had a catered pasta and salad luncheon that was very tasty. I'm actually quite suprised by the negative reviews on this site. I would DEFINTELY stay in this hotel again. I thought it was clean, friendly, and extremely pleasant with a great location.

We stayed at the Beachwood Hilton for 2 nights. We had a room with 2 doubles, even though we had requested a King. The beds were not very comfortable - the sheets seemed kind of plasticy. The location of the hotel is decent - there are lots of places to eat nearby. There is a pool which looked like it was half inside and half outside.

I did not care for this hotel as our room felt like a hallway. It was oddly shaped and seemed really dated. I've been to a conference in this hotel before and the ballrooms are alright, even if they do have odd carpet. The bar/lounge had a special going on every night (free soup, free chocolate fondue) and entertainers.

I wouldn't stay here again - just not a fan of it. The public areas were upscale but the rooms were exactly the opposite.

  • Liked — Easy freeway access
  • Disliked — Pool was closed most of the time we were there

We used points to stay in this hotel and stayed there for 5 nights. The reception area looks ok. The building looks ugly when you compare this with the hotel opposite to Hilton (Marriot Residence). There is plenty of parking spaces. You will definitely need a car to get around if you stay in this hotel.

Upon arrival to this hotel after an 8 hour flight, we went to check into our room. All the check in staff did was ask for your credit card for potential incidentals and did not even bother to ask whether you would like to know what amenities they might have. The only thing they tell you is how to get to your room. Did they ask you whether you need any help with your luggage? Obviously not!!! Check out is similar experience. Apparently if you have not incur any additional incidentals, they would not issue you a bill!!!!

Our room is in what they called the Hilton Honours floor. The room is ok. Nothing spectacular!!! The wash basin is filled with cracks!!! water pressure for the shower is not great. Walls in these rooms are very thin and some of the guests staying in this floor still chat very loudly outside their room even after 11:45pm!!! However inconsiderate!!!!

The room has no safety deposit box (although Hilton.com indicate there is one). There is a mini-bar which is completely empty!!!! There is no hotel slippers available or a bathrobe.

I went down to Porters one morning for breakfast. There is really not a lot of choice when comes to a la carte breaksfast. Coffee is weak. Nothing special.

Will I come back to this hotel and stay again given the choice? Most likely not.

I never stayed in a hotel where the door would not open until after about 4 or 5 attempts!!!!! That was ridiculous!!!!! It did that every time!!!!!!! The bathtub was cracking and peeling and was old! The pool had no towels available and the hot tub had brown scum in the bubbles in the water. It was really gross!!!!!!! We spoke to the manager and they did give us two free buffets at Capers. And the food was good and the service was excellent.

This place was by far the worst Hilton i have ever experienced. You can tell from the outside that this is a very old property which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The lobby area appeared warm and inviting and there were fresh cookies available upon check-in. While walking to the elevators to get to our room the enclosed outdoor pool area appeared nice and inviting and the workout room was decent size with what appeared to be well kept machines. When the elevator opened to the 3rd floor i honestly could not believe my eyes. The carpeting in the hallways was old, dirty and had huge areas where it was bunching up right in the middle, definately a safety issue as well as being unsightly. The room was also very Motel 6'ish. The carpeting was light green, stained, iron-scorched and most definately dating back to the Reagan administration. The comforter on the bed was also old school with that tacky floral print so popular in the 80's and 90's. The bathroom was tiny, the tiles in the bathtub cracked in places and some visible mold in the grout. The bed itself wasn't very comfortable and was obviously an older mattress.

Aside from friendly employees, a decent lobby and free wireless internet (which by the way was horribly slow) i have nothing nice to say about this relic of a hotel.

  • Liked — Nice Lobby Area
  • Disliked — Walking into a 1985 time warp in the guestroom hallways and rooms
