A worthwhile place to visit. We walked over on the causeway and that let me get some good photos of the horse-drawn tram. The draught horses are rotated so it is not just one poor old Neddy. Do allow long enough to to the walk around the island (about 1.5km). We saw seals, shingleback lizards, shags, and a good look at a stingray in the shallow water by the causeway.
The cafe does a great lunch (but don't sit outdoors if you don't like seagulls). Victor Harbour has some interesting shops in lovely old buildings too. On the way back to town we stopped at several wineries that are in that region.
