“Overnight stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2014

We stayed in this park in 2007 and didn't think it really had any improvements since then . The park itself is a nice place with all the birds etc but the showers were quite small but clean. Really loved it first time so thought we would come back.. Friendly man greeted us at reception and was quite helpful.

We’ve seen many and real improvements since 2007 so that your review was a real surprise to us and to staff!

We’ve invested significantly in: camp kitchen (generous proportions and loved by guests) | solar (heat exchange) hot water systems | rainwater tanks | large garden beds | renovations to interior of cabins | decking and carports to cabins | new guest laundry with three front loading washing machines and dryer | additional camp lounge | 1 Kw solar pv array | renovated amenities building | renovated babies bathroom (open for guests) | additional bunkhouse accommodation | additional Eco Tourer Onsite Van | new office complex | renovations to manager’s residence | 3.75 kW solar pv array | resurface roadway (improved material).

We’re looking forward to the arrival of 350 plants from Trees for Life to add extra trees and understorey for our Red Gums and to plant a woodlot to use for future campfires.

We agree that the amenities can be cosy in the common area between the shower cubicles and hand basins. We’d love to add 20 cm to our inherited building. The showers themselves are roomy, with shower curtain and change area.

Because of our organic gardening principles and working hard to keep the pest bird, Little Corella away from our park, the Red Gum canopy is much leafier and it’s providing better habitat for large and small birds. Last year significant July rain brought a much needed fill-up for groundwater, we had a family of ducks, and many other birds having families, including Kookaburras and Azure Kingfishers.

We’re glad that you found Gary to be friendly and helpful. We have a focus on customer care and on the environment.

We’d like to say thanks for your review as it’s given us an opportunity to perform a pictorial audit of the park. I’ll be the one walking around with my laptop; Gary will be taking pictures!

Our quick run-around yesterday to take pictures are shared on our social media site – also accessible via our website.

We hope to you see you another time and thanks again for taking the time to write your review.

The park was a beautiful location, plenty of trees and greenery and was kept very clean. The kitchen was equipped with fridge, freezer, kettle, toaster, two ring gas burner and a barbecue. Bronwyn and Gary were very friendly owners. There were plenty of leaflets in reception about places to visit in Quorn and South Australia, plus space to recycle spare leaflets and a book swap. The park was very environmentally friendly and there were good recycling facilities. Quorn itself was a lovely quaint town and the locals were friendly. Highly recommended caravan park, thank you Gary and Bronwyn for a lovely few nights stay.

It is one of the best Caravan Parks I have stayed in. The hosts are fantastic and the facilities are very nice and extremely clean! The kitchen is very cozy and the gardens are very well maintained. I definitely recommend this caravan park.

It's a wonderful review you've written - thanks very much - some guests are surprised that we manage to reach high levels of cleanliness without industrial / chemical cleaners and cleaning the old-fashioned way!

We feel as if we're doing our bit for the environment and for people - cleaning & gardening naturally!

Kind regards, Bronwyn

Such a beautiful park the cabin was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. just a short stroll across the train tracks to the town centre. Bronwyn and Gary were very friendly and so passionate about their town with the knowledge that they shared. Highly recommend to stay here.

We're very happy you enjoyed your stay in one of our ensuited cabins. I hope you enjoyed our geology talk - Earth history is fascinating, I think (puts lots of things in perspective too!) and there's a lot of stories to be told about the past, here in the Flinders!

Kind regards,
Bronwyn

We have now stayed in this park twice. Gary and Bronwyn were very friendly and welcoming on both occasions. The park is small but lovely and well kept and just a short walk to to the town centre. I would certainly recommend the Quorn Caravan Park as a stay for any travellers into the Flinders and beyond!

The host were extremely helpful & friendly, the cabin with ensuite bathroom was well presented & tidy with one of the most comfortable beds i've ever slept in at a park. The temp outside was 44.5 but the aircon worked a treat with a carport for cars. Overall it was A1 so i would recommend to anyone that it would be worth the stay.

Room Tip: Room 6 also has carport

5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2013

I camped overnight at Quorn Caravan Park with four other touring cyclist riding the Mawson trail. Owners Bronwyn and Gary were very friendly and went out of their way to find-out and pass on much needed advice on where we could find drinking water on our following day of cycling, as we were planning to camp-out in the bush.

We were also delighted to find Bronwyn and Gary run their park as a 'green' caravan park, having spent considerable effort on reducing the environmental footprint of their park and promoting environmental values. Their various initiatives included native landscaping and protecting their large gum trees, using natural cleaning products, using tank water and having solar panels.

The park was well cared for and with little touches like paintings of native birds on the outside of the buildings, gave the place a nice feel. The park had great camping facilities with soft ground to get the pegs in, a good camp kitchen with tables, BBQ and fridge, and a fully enclosed sofa room which was a great place to relax and keep warm in the evening. The amenity block was clean and in good condition.

Quorn itself is quite a nice town and a good place to stop before heading further north to the Flinders. It has many historic buildings, several good cafes, a big information centre with helpful staff, and a well-equipped IGA which is good place for stocking-up before heading further north where groceries become harder to find.

All cyclists in the group enjoyed our brief stay, and would gladly return to the friendly Quorn Caravan Park if passing through this way again.
