“Relaxing & most enjoyable 3 hour cruise with yummy lunch included.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2013

We really enjoyed our lunch cruise thanks to the Captain, friendly Crew & great Chef.
We were fortunate in having a voucher which made this a great value trip.
The Captain was informative, the views of the river were relaxing, the two course lunch delicious.
There was a choice of two mains & three deserts. We opted for the roast lamb & apple crumble.
The bar prices for wine were very reasonable.
It was a special occasion for us but we didn't mind sharing our table with others.
We would do this cruise again in the future & not hesitate to recommend to friends?

“5 Hour lunch cruise”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

My Wife and I had been looking forward to this for some time and the welcome by all crew members was very pleasant. The main set back was the seating. We are private people and if we wanted to be seated with other people we would have brought some friends however we were placed at a table for 6 with another group of 4 who all knew each other. I asked the Captain who was booking us in if we could have a smaller table and was told, more than once, that the prearranged seating definitely couldn't be changed as it would affect the balance of the boat. We reluctantly accepted this and moved off only to hear the couple behind us ask for the same thing and then the worst thing occurred - he allowed them to grab some cutlery and sit at a table for two!! This attitude spoilt the remainder of the trip. I don't know if there is different treatment for older customers (us) or those who were taking the trip on a voucher as the others at our table were also on vouchers.
The meal was very good and we were given 3 courses with choices for each course. The staff were very attentive and the Captains commentary knowledgeable. I personally found 5 hours a bit long and if I ever took another trip like this I would opt for the 3 hours version.

“A very relaxing way to enjoy a touch of history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

Boarding from the main wharf in Murray Bridge you get to see the historic rail cars and engine from bygone era. We were welcomed on board by a very pleasant crew member and then the captain to present our tickets to. We were given our safety briefing by the captain who also took time to introduce the crew, then we were under way. Travelling down stream in a very peaceful atmosphere we were given commentary over the pa on various aspects of the river and river life. Free to roam the vessel we had champagne on the top deck as the world slipped by. Lunch was a choice, we had one of each and my complements to the chef on an excellent meal. The cost included the trip and 2 course meal, drinks we purchased at cheaper than hotel prices and a good selection of wines available. Over all a five star rating from us.

“Wouldn't recommend”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013

The area where you park and board the Captain Proud is appallingly dilapidated. Not inviting at all. If it wasn't for the company of four ladies we met on the bus on the way to the cruise, this would have been one boring trip. Spent 99% of our time inside at our lunch table chatting a outside scenery quite boring. Saw nothing of interest. Lunch was nice. Could have saved our money and just gone to a cafe for lunch! Don't put it on your bucket list.

“Great way to see a little of the Murray River”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

The 3 hour lunch cruise was excellent and the time flew! Great commentary from the Captain, nice customer service from the crew and the 2 course lunch was nice - we had the roast beef with vegetables and apple crumble. The vessel has been well decked out for the lunches with comfortable furniture - all up a great couple of hours and a very nice experience - great value for money.
