“comfortable, clean, friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2012

I stayed at this motel for one week in Feb/March and had previously had numerous one night stays. I have always enjoyed staying here. Some of the rooms are dated and in need of an upgrade which is a work in progress. Despite this, the rooms are comfortable and clean and I have always slept well when there.
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff is second to none - they are amazing! A big thank you to you all.
I have eaten in the restaurant many times. The restaurant is bright and airy, staff are welcoming and the view from huge glass windows is lovely. The food and presentation is great - I have never been disappointed with my menu choices.
I will stay again if the opportunity presents itself and will continue to recommend it to others.
P.S. This motel has a laundry for guest use and at the time of my last stay did not charge for this. I do not think I have ever stayed anywhere that does not charge for use of washing machines. Thankyou.

Room Tip: Perhaps ask if a room overlooking the river is available because these are lovely. Also it is worth...

stayed here for 2 nights while in Mannum for a concert. Had a double room that also had a single bed. Room is very dated and smelled quite stale, The bathroom is small and has original fittings which are also very dated. The bed was very comfy and room was clean and adequately equipped. The staff are excellent and very hospitable and the cooked breakfast was awesome and you can eat outdoors overloooking the Great Murray River which is idealic! The swimming pool was advertised as open but was too dirty to swim in. Accommodation is limited in Mannum and this Motel is as good as you will find. Would stay again but not for a luxury holiday.

We stayed one night and we were very happy. We had a river view room overlooking the ferry across the mighty Murray.
The room was clean and comfortable. I don't recognise the observations about 'tiredness' made by other reviewers - but then I was only there one night. There was quite a large restaurant and we ate dinner there - OK but not exciting. It was quite a hot day and fortunately the room air-con was good. We looked at the pool but it is tucked away at the back of the site and didn't really appeal. When staying at Manum it is definitely worth visting the renovated paddle steamer and associated museum.

Room Tip: Definitely pay the extra for river view.

We stayed at the motel for the third time in the last five years. The rooms are a little tired and worn. But they are clean. An update is due. The staff are friendly. Brekky is good. We spent three nights there last week and were happy with our family room.

Mannum is a pretty Murray River town. There is really no other motel in town. The motel is situated at the end of town near the car ferry.

I would stay there again.

Friendly staff but completely run-down rooms. The motel has definately seen better days, just like the city of Mannum. Kindda icky rooms, especially the bathroom. For what you get, it's overpriced. Wouldn't stay here again, not even for a single night. Can't say anything about the food, 'cause we decided to better skip dinner.

Disappointing you didn't enjoy your stay in Mannum - especially at the Mannum Motel!
We have been working through the upgrades, we do acknowledge there are some rooms that do need some more attention, we would welcome anyone to inspect any rooms anytime to see for themselves the work that has been done.

This family-run motel offers a friendly welcome; nothing is too much trouble for the hard-working owners. Yes, the decor is old and tired (not to mention the ageing fridges and televisions) but the rooms were spotlessly clean. Some have glimpses of the Murray, and from the restaurant you can see the ferries criss-crossing the river.
The motel is at one end of the little town, with its attractive facades along a street parallel to the Murray.
The food in the restaurant was reasonably priced and varied; we were with a tour group but saw the main menu. Vegetarian food was thoughtfully and tastefully cooked specially for us. Breakfast buffet-style was substantial (with some of the best field mushrooms we saw in South Australia), and the in-room breakfast menu had some unusual combinations to offer variety to travellers.
We would have no hesitation in detouring to stay there again when we travel that part of the world.

Mannum Motel 76 Cliff Street, Mannum

Mannum, about an hour from Adelaide, is a great town for seeing the Murray River. The town is a center houseboat rentals. The local Tourist office houses a small museum and the helpful staff can direct you to local sights and make arrangements for tours. We enjoyed a 1 1/2 hour river cruise, including afternoon tea, with Jester Cruises.

The Mannum Motel is located at the edge of town across from the free cross-river car ferry dock, near the Tourist Office and within walking distance of the entire town. It is part of the Golden Chain of motels for which we had obtained a 10% discount card when we stayed at another of their motels. We had a large room overlooking the Murray River for A$110 per night. Place is clean but somewhat worn. Our queen bedded room had A/C, TV, tea/coffee making facilities, miniBar, table and chairs, and sofa. Bathroom was adequate and had a hair dryer. Rooms without river view are somewhat less. Owners were very helpful. There is a pool, which was not in service when we were there. Laundry, including soap powder, is free.
