The 1926 cafe/restaurant on the very edge of Lake Barrine was the perfect place to have a cup of coffee and observe the lake. We went on the little boat trip round the lake and despite expecting a geriatric outing we saw a red bellied black snake at extremely close quarters as well as a huge huge ell that was making the local ducklings lives very dangerous. On the grassy verge between the lake and the cafe a 3 metre python was quietly warming itself in the sun only to be the centre of attention of a gaggle of tourists, ourselves included. Charming, relaxing, fun! Worth a visit.
