“A quite and relaxing place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2012

I only stayed at the Lake Eacham Tourist Park for one night but it was fantastic!

After a long day of chasing swimming holes and lakes to cool off from the heat and humidity it was nice to kick my feet here for the evening. There was a huge camp kitchen, clean facilities and a nice little general store.

I only used a van site so I cannot comment on the accommodation.

If you are travelling in this area and need a place to crash for a night....I would recommend it.

Went to the Lake Eacham Tourist park for a quick 2 night get away, stayed in our Jayco Dove Camper. This is a smaller park, only about a half dozen van parks with slabs, half a dozen cabins, and room for about a dozen grass sites for camping etc. There is a camp kitchen, which has gas burners, fireplace, tables games and a large fridge to store your food in. On the property there is also an open fireplace, a small lake, lots of birdlife and was all in all a rather peaceful weekend away. the hosts were more then happy to have our dog there (largish mixed pedigree) so long as she was on a lead. My wife and I would definately be back!

This is nice site in a good location very close to Lake Eacham and an excellent base for the many attractions in the tablelands. The owners are very helpful and welcoming. We stayed in the yellow cabin which is adequate, but the interior is a bit tired and is overdue a 'makeover'. The rates are very reasonable.

Having travelled extensively from Perth, Western Australia, across the Nullarbor to settle on the Atherton Tablelands, Queensland, I have found this to be THE BEST pet-friendly caravan park I have come across in my travels. My husband and I, along with our 3 little doggies, felt right at home from the start, staying at this caravan park for several weeks, while house-hunting for our new home. The owners, Lionel & Liz and their daughter Sandy, along with their staff, were extremely friendly and helpful. The shop (with fuel bowser) was also very handy to have nearby. I absolutely loved the birdlife there - the chooks, ducks, turkeys and guinea fowl, all roaming freely, and I enjoyed feeding them bits of bread during their feeding time at 5 p.m. daily by the water's edge - a spectacle to enjoy. I also thoroughly enjoyed visiting the blue parrot and cockatiel in their walk-in aviary near the Ladies shower/toilet facilities. The blue parrot was the more talkative one of the two and would say, "Hello, how you're doing?" Very cute, indeed! My little Maltese Terrier X Shih-Tzu - Pickles - would actually "lead me" to the birds whenever I took him for a walk on the leash. He was always fascinated by all the birds at the caravan park and loved to sit and watch them intently, wagging his tail a little every now and then. The park surroundings were beautiful, lush and green. The camp kitchen, laundry and shower/toilet facilities were always kept clean, thanks to Michael who does his job well and who also feeds the birds on a daily basis, even on rainy days! Other holiday accommodation places should learn from Lake Eacham Tourist Park, as to what the true sense of "Pet Friendly" is. We were sad to leave the park at the end of our stay, but are now happily settling into our new home on the Atherton Tablelands. Thank you, Lionel & Liz, for a truly memorable stay at your beautiful caravan park. I shall spread the good word.

We arrived atthe tourist park through Atherton tourist information. We discovered a warm place that offers nice cabins for a good price. It's located close to the stunning lake eacham and is a good place to explore te table lands from. Lyonel, the owner was extremely helpful and kind.

I have traveled around 10 000km's and this is what I found about Lake Eacham CP
Service-:the best on the trip- The lady at check in asked if we could wait a feW minutes to be served, she wanted to help an elderly lady to the car with her shopping from their shop- Real service!!
Camp Kitchen: the best so far- 2 BBQ's 1 with wood fire, all utensils and in and old shed with character
Toilets: very clean, it was like a restaurant toilets
Camp sites- Although small, grassed and shaded. Excellent
FUEL- THEY HAD A DIESEL AND UNLEADED AND IT IS THE CHEAPEST FUEL I HAVE BOUGHT IN 10 000KM'S EVEN CHEAPER THAN PERTH FROM WHERE I LEFT.
Location- In the middle of the tablelands with great access everywhere
Price: The cheapest we stayed in in the area. unpowered site was $19

In summary, this is by far the best park we have stayed in over 10 000km's. Brilliant!!! well done to the owners/ managers

The park is Family run and you can tell how much care they've put into it.

Its set on a main (but very quiet) road, not far from the pretty little town of Yungaburra, there are pitches for campers, cabins of various sizes, a small general store with a petrol pump outside and a cafe that is situated in a small, lush garden with a fish pond.

Between us we booked two cabins - the 'Blue cabin' and 'Green cabin' both were comfortable and homely and both have a kitchen area and outside decks with tables and chairs. They look so cute from the outside and when you step inside you feel as though youv'e gone through a time portal into a caravan from the late 1970s - lacy net curtains, chintzy prints and knitted tea cosies. (we all loved it)

This is a great base for exploring all that the beautiful Atherton Tablelands area has to offer :-

Lakes (walkable to Lake Eacham for swimming), waterfalls, walking, culture, delicious produce(there are some surprisingly good Restaurants in Yungaburra), birdwatching and wildlife (If you are lucky - by the bridge in Yungaburra you may even catch sight of a Platypus in the wild)
Keep up the good work Lionel and Family, we really appreciate your dedication.
