“Totally relaxing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2009

We had 4 nights in the Waves Beach Hut and loved it. The cottages have everything you can think of and are in a great, quiet, picturesque setting. We were very impressed with the attention to detail and how our hut was cleaned mid way through our visit. It was wonderful sitting on the balcony and whiling away the time. Would highly recommend the accommodation and Mission Beach for a quiet relaxing beach getaway.

Huts are close to village via road or beach. The kiosk next door to Castaways is a great place for breakfast or a coffee while looking at the beach.

Staying at Sejala is having a dream come true. Your own hut on the beach and in the forest, a hammock on the veranda, an outdoor bathroom and all the luxury you can imagine. It is impossible to put the magic of this place into words - you simply cannot get more romantic than this. The price comes at a premium, but it is worth every penny - you'll dream of this place for years to come. Stay here and slip out early to watch the sunrise over Mission Beach - you'll tell your grandchildren of this in years to come. Definitely recommended!

These beach huts are amazing. All are detatched, beautifully built huts, with adjoining bathrooms. They ae clean, airconditioned, fully equiped with all the mod comms. The only downside was the kitchen was only equipped with a microwave, fridge and BBQ, so no real cooking possible.
Absolutely great location - 30 seconds from beach (we were in Coral).
Can't recommend enough. Worth every penny.

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in the Waves Beach Hut on Mission Beach in October. I must say it can be a bit of a shock when you first arrive as the bathroom is open air and the sound of the rainforest behind you can throw a towny a bit, we found a tree frog in our sink on the first night!

However once you get used to the surroundings it is absolute bliss, I cried when we left, you really get the feel of what it would be like to be a beach bum for a while!

The Sejala Beach Huts are immaculately kept and beautifully decorated, there is very little intrusion from the guys that run it. You have your own barbeque on the veranda and a hammock which we made full use of. (As others have said I would definitely stay in either the Beach or Waves Hut as they look out to the beach). The huts have airconditioning, tv and DVD player too!

Mission Beach is perhaps one of the most beautiful beaches I have seen and it was heaven to wake up, walk a few feet to the beach and take a walk for miles with no one else on it, we had great fun running in and out of the sea and drawing in the sand! The only downside we found to Mission Beach were the locals who on many occasions came across as quite rude, but having spoken to others apparently this is not uncommon in this area of Australia! However don’t let that put you off as we still loved every minute.

Mission Beach is famous for its sky-diving and I would thoroughly recommend doing this – its amazing floating over the beach, sea and Dunk Island. All in all I have very happy memories of our stay here and would throroughly recommend the Sejala Beach huts.

What a delightful location and beach hut, we were very thrilled with our rustic comfortable beach cabin. The Sejala cabins offer complete privacy with a touch of tropical paradise all wrapped up into a delightful beach holiday.

There are three huts Beaches, Waves and Coral. The best two are located on the beach; the Coral hut is next door to the swimming pool and has a lovely garden surrounding it. The pool is small and extremely well shaded for the hot summer months.

An enclosed stinger net is located on the beach just a few minutes away from Sejala.

The cabin is well equipped with a double bed, couch, coffee table, TV and a small kitchenette. The bathroom is well appointed having a rustic ambiance with its tin shower and open aired louvered windows.

These cabins are not 5 stars but offer a delightful casual beach atmosphere oozing with charm and character. The beach is on your doorstep and the village is just a short 10-minute walk away along the gorgeous tropical beach.

There are some excellent restaurants which can be located in the village and for nightlife there is the local tavern and the bar Coconut positioned opposite.

Mission Beach village is only tiny but it offers travelers all the necessary facilities, which one may require. There is a well-stocked supermarket, bottle shop, chemist, ATM machines (no bank) cafes and restaurants.

The most popular activity is to visit Dunk Island, which is a short ferry/ water taxi ride away from Mission Beach. One can either stay at Dunk Island Resort or have a day pass, which allows full use of the resort facilities and includes a lunch deal. AUD$20.00pp.

The water taxi departs from Wongaling Beach, which is approx 10minutes drive south from Mission Beach. Tickets can be purchased at the water taxi office. The taxi departs the mainland at
8.30am - 9.30am – 11.00am – 12.30pm – 2.30pm and 4pm. – (10mins ride).
Departing from Dunk Island at >
9.00am-10.am-12pm-2pm-3.30pm and 4.30pm
OR
The ferry from Dunk Island departs from Clump PT Jetty – 8.30am-10am-2pm –( 25mins)
Returning Dunk Island Jetty – 1.30pm-3.30pm-4.30pm
COST – AUD$40.00 or with Bus option AUD$50.00

Overall – a delightful beach holiday set amongst tropical gardens and coconut trees. A special treat.

If you want to get away from it all, definately stay at the Sejala Beach huts.

There are three huts - we stayed in the Waves hut. The Waves hut looks out through the palm trees to Mission Beach. The huts are in the centre of Mission beach and a short stroll to the shops, cafes and bars.

The huts are very casual and laid back. The key is left in the hut when you turn up and when you check out, you just leave the key inside. This is a great touch, as sometimes on holiday you just don't want to be fussed with all the checking in and out details!

The huts are very well equipped and have everything you would need to chill out and relax. There is a BBQ, fridge, micro. The bathrooms are funkily designed too and the hut we stayed in had a galvanised iron shower. There is also a small pool for the three huts and lots of room to chill out on your verandah or lie in the hammock!

If you are not a fan of insects or geckos, and if you want a resort where you are waited on hand and foot, this is probably not the place for you. But if you want to relax, enjoy the beach life and get away from it all - the Sejala Beach Huts are perfect.

We recently spent 4 nights at the Sejala huts on Mission Beach. We stayed in the Waves hut. If possible try and book the Waves or Beach hut as both these huts look directly onto the beach and out to sea.
The location (10 metres from the beach) was outstanding. The accommodation was first rate. The huts are very clean, very cleverly designed with shutters and screening, it feels luxurious and that they have thought of anything.
The only slight downside was that they claim they will clean your hut every third day - no cleaning occurred at our hut during our 4 day stay.
However this is a very minor issue. I will absolutely be going back to Sejala - it was fantastic.
