“Good ambience but service and meal size disappointing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012 via mobile

The location is fantastic overlooking the mouth of the Maroochy River. I recommend booking as it is difficult to get a table due to its popularity and limited no. of tables.

I ordered the venison with betroot and goats cheese which was an entree but I paid extra to have it as a main. It was very small with about three thin small slices of betroot and about two crumbs of goats cheese. It was very tasty but also very small and especially for the price. The venison was also cooked blue rather than rare.

Dessert I had the rose water and lemon scented meringue with poached rhubarb and Persian fairy floss. It was delish however considering how cheap the ingredients are it was also a bit pricey.

The service was friendly but once we had finished our mains we never saw anyone again. We had to go to the bar to get a menu for dessert and still no one came to take our order we had to again go up to order dessert and coffee.

I don't know if I'll go back.

“Best spot for our lunch date”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012 via mobile

Came here sans kids for lunch while visiting the Sunshine Coast on holidays . I was a bit nervous after reading reviews about rude staff. Our French Canadian waitress was very friendly, attentive and helpful. It probably helped that we booked as we tried to eat here earlier in the week but could not get a seat. We shared scallops for entree perfectly cooked and sensitively dressed . We both had crispy skinned salmon which was cooked as we like it, medium, with a celeriac and crab salad and kipfler potatoes. Yum. Managed to squeeze in a passion fruit brûlée for dessert, which was perfection. Lots of wines by the glass and a good beer selection. You cannot fault the location. If you want to eat out beach style, this is how you do it!

We went with friends and all four of us enjoyed everything including food, service, atmosphere and wine. We will become regular customers.

“Nice Setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

Loved the oysters for starters. Our mains were delicious too - salmon was cooked perfect (medium rare). Service was friendly although a bit slow / casual.
