“Beautiful gardens”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2013

This botanical garden has the most wonderful setting and lovely views. It is privately owned so the cost of $11 I feel is a bit much. The gardens are lovely and deserved to be viewed but the cost will put a few people off.

"The best $11 I've ever spent. What splendid vision and such a gift to this part of the world" is a comment from our visitor book the day after your review. We are sorry you did not perceive the gardens this way. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, it appears, so is the concept of value for money. Thank you for the time taken to review our gardens.

“WOW!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

The walk through the gardens was amazing with lovely water features and ponds to admire along the way. It's hard to believe the gardens are privately owned and self funded. WOW!

I still feel that "wow" factor every day I am here in the gardens, Thank you for your review and for pointing out that the gardens are privately funded Botanic Gardens and no public funding is received to maintain and run the gardens. Your patronage and enthusiasm are greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your feedback and to hear you had a great day out. It is nice to be able to enjoy the fruits of one man's dream having been turned into reality. Yes, our visitors to the Gardens who can't walk due to health issues are able to enjoy most areas as the main part of the Gardens is accessible via vehicle.

“maleny botanic gardens”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

this is a great place to spend a couple of hours just enjoying the gardens and the view of the magnificent Glass House mountains. The gardens were created on the site of a dairy farm and what a great job the owners have done. It would be a lovely place for that oh so romantic wedding. The staff make you feel welcome as soon as you arrive and the tea and scones on offer are delicious and very reasonably priced. This is a work in progress so another visit is on the calendar for the near future.

Our Devonshire Tea and scones are taste tested rigurously by my colleagues and myself (what an onerous task) and we are happy you enjoyed them in what we think is one of the best settings around. We look forward to welcome you on your return.

“No. 1 spot on Sunshine Coast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

This is the most awesome place! It exceeded expectations by far! The ambience is breathtaking! The views are among the best of the Glass House Mountains! This should no longer be the best kept secret in the Sunshine Coast hinterland - it deserves centre stage in the bigger picture of tourism for the region. Only one section (stage one consisting of 3 hectares) of the 44 hectare property is developed at this time and so when one considers the enormity and the beauty of what is also to come in the future, the potential is boundless. To feel close to nature in whatever area appeals more to you - the Monet bridge, the Oriental garden, the cycads from South Africa, all against the backdrop of the majestic Glass House Mountains - really worth a visit. The foresight of the owner is to be much admired as is the fact that he has chosen to share this with all and sundry and not keep it private. So whether one belongs to an intimate group for an outing, a tai chi class, a yoga class, is an ornithologist, a keen gardener, a botanist, a naturalist, a keen photographer, or just in need of breathing in the glorious fresh air in this exquisite sanctuary - you will be all the richer for visiting this beautiful place. The variety of trees is enormous and then there is the orchid collection..! We found it really difficult to leave the place and its generous offer of peace in such gorgeous surroundings. Don't miss out, visit Maleny Botanic Gardens at your first opportunity!
