“Romantic, Secluded, Cosy.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2012

My partner and I have just returned from a 4 night stay at Curramore in the Calm cabin. It says a lot about a place if one of the first things I want to do when I return home to the real world is write down how much we enjoyed ourselves and the accommodation.

Calm is a gorgeous cabin with a double spa bath (candles too), lush king sized bed (with decent, soft linen), verandah and double spa.

Although the weather was very wet and windy it did not dampen our experience one bit. If anything it helped us enjoy our time together even more. Watching a few DVDs that were kindly lent to us (there's heaps to choose from in reception!) and laying near the fire in our fluffy robes (provided) was beyond blissful. Even the little touches in the cabin such as playing cards and chess board helped us enjoy our time even more.

There is everything you pretty much need to make a decent, hearty meal in the cabin's kitchen and a table to sit at to enjoy it.

It's not hard to work out why this cabin is named Calm. A relaxed, secluded and peaceful vibe was delivered. This is such an amazing getaway for couples.

Julie and Terry were lovely and welcoming and provided excellent local knowledge on what to check out and explore. We're looking forward to staying again in the very near future!

Hot tip: The mobile phone reception can be patchy for those with Vodafone, but a handy hint for those staying in the future is placing your phone on the windowsill above the bed as this will get you enough reception to check emails and make calls if necessary- but why would you want to? :)

We stayed in the Calm cabin a few weeks ago. Great attention to detail, king size bed, the spa was wonderful, the fluffy robes, the heated towel rail in the bathroom! and of course the wonderful ever changing 180 deg view from the deck of the mist rolling in through the valley. It rained for almost the whole time but the log fire made it snug and comfy. Highly recommend for a relaxing time away.

Room Tip: Calm apparently has the bigger views

This was our second stay at Curramore Country Cabins, our first being in the Dream cabin and this time in Love. We stayed for three nights and had a wonderful time, enjoying the peace and privacy of the cabin. The breakfast provisions and delicious bread were very much enjoyed, as was relaxing by the fire. Julie and Terry provide a very welcoming checkin and checkout process, and were more than happy to provide us with some information on the local sights we could enjoy. For a relaxing break from the hustle and bustle you couldn't go wrong here, and we hope to visit again soon.

We arrived 3 hours before our scheduled check-in after a hectic 5 day mission in Melbourne and our host, Julie kindly invited us to explore some of the stunning property while she hurried off to finish preparing our cabin (and her husband Terry tackled the mowing). No more than 10 minutes later she returned and happily checked us in, offering us plenty of sights, restaurants and activities around the area (and a free map), plus a decent selection of books and DVD's to borrow free of charge. Then we were given a large, fragrant, freshly home baked loaf of wholegrain bread, presented in a wooden basket and wrapped in a tea towel, courtesy of the hosts. And MAN - was it good! More on that later...

We scooted up the hill, sniffing our bread the whole way to our cabin, 'Love' and were blown away by what was waiting for us. A tidy, comfortable cabin for 2 with lounge-room fireplace, reverse-cycle air conditioning, large bathroom, fully equipped kitchenette (the love-heart shaped egg-rings were a cute touch) with breakfast cereals, biscuits, tea, coffee and condiments, bar fridge (stocked with breakfast juice, milk, bacon, eggs, butter & spreads and fresh tomatoes), verandah with electric BBQ, upstairs mezzanine bedroom with a huge, comfy bed and one very large spa bath in the corner. A gentle piano soundtrack tinkles from a CD player in the background. Wow.

We put the fire on, hopped in the spa and dropped off the face of the Earth for 3 days of cosy bliss. Verandah BBQ breakfasts with thick toast. A drive into the shops and a coffee at Maudys' gorgeous little restaurant in Witta then back to the cabin for hot chocolate and a DVD in front of the fire. Back in the cabin, we seemed so isolated (in a good way) we felt as though we owned the place - it was our cute little home.

Everything was provided for us, which made for a more relaxing stay; Fireplace (kindling, medium sticks, large blocks, firelighters, newspaper, matches plus heaps more stacked outside the cabin). Shower or spa (fresh quality linen - even fluffy, matching robes, eucalyptus shower gel, shampoo & conditioner, hand cream, candles, little box of hand-made Maleny chocolates (delicious) and so on.... even a torch, mozzie coils and bug spray (although we didn't need them). Hosts Julie and Terry have EVERYTHING covered.

Finally the bread - I can't state clearly enough just how much of a special touch it was. Warm, lovingly crafted and full of taste, just like the little cabin in Curramore we fell in 'Love' with.

Room Tip: Choose the "Love" cabin. It's perfect for couples. Very romantic.

Not too far from the city, but far enough to get away. This really is a piece of heaven. I stayed in "Calm" and it had the most breathtaking view. The cabin was delightfully decorated. Everything you could possibly need was there. You receive a beautiful hamper on arrival, with the most delicious homemade bread. The owners were more than accommodating and friendly. For wanting to get away from it all, take in the fresh country air and relax by a warm fire, this is the perfect place. Close to Maleny if you want to do a spot of shopping, or just relax with a good book or watch one of their many dvd's, it's the perfect holiday spot. I would highly recommend this gorgeous place to anyone. I didn't want to leave!

Room Tip: I was lucky enough to see all 3 cabins, and they were all gorgeous! But "Calm" had THE bes...

This is our second stay at this delightful cabins. Last time we stayed in the Garden cabin and this time we stayed in Love. For a quiet and private time away from the stress of life we couldn't recommend a better place to stay. The homemade loaf of bread and breakfast make a great start to the day with plenty to do in the area if sight seeing takes your fancy. In our view the best thing to be doing here however is just to kickback and relax with the views and if movies take your fancy the owners have a heap of DVD's you can watch FOC.
It's great, and we once again highly recommend it.
