“Very poor”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

Not only is this attraction poorly configured and very run down, there's very little to see and looks like it hasn't been cared for in decades with very old faded newspaper articles the main source of 'education'. What's worse, sizeable snakes are kept in very small confined boxes with no room to move and no stimulation. I watched one for 5 minutes continuously trying to get out through the glass top. It's over priced and under-cared for. Don't support such an amateur operation.

“Quaint, quirky, like being invited to someone's home! Do it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012

Unassuming, not widely advertised - but if you like snakes, lizards, spiders, bugs, and things that go 'hiss' - then this place isn't to be missed. $15 entry is a bit steep, but since they have a big mouse/cricket budget, and this is totally non-commercial, I felt I got good value. Knowledgeable and friendly staff walked me through the various exhibits, the animals all appeared to be in good health and well-looked after. Don't expect things to be polished - this is obviously a hobbyist trying to do a little extra. On the plus side, I got to hold several lizards & a few snakes, 'pet' a few bugs & scorpions - very 'hands on'. Plenty of information offered, and I felt like I learned something. Much more enjoyable for me than the more commercial exhibits in Kuranda.

“Save your money!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012 via mobile

Not worthy of the cost or even having the doors open. It is a very small space that's extremely run down. All and all maybe 10-12 "exhibits", if you can call them that.

Smallish aquariums set up in poor light, this is fine for a personal animal but not for an attraction. Staff was friendly, but the space and sights need to be worked on. Signage all looks like it was typed and printed at home, should be heeps more info and a much more professional feel. Very lacking.

“A hands on very different zoo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

Loved all the different displays and the informative guides. Great when they bring out some of the animals to touch. Kids loved it, too and we all learned a bit.

“Dark and spooky attraction”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2012

The actually snake part of the attraction was a little creepy, although I guess this is deliberate, but it freak our 4 year old out and I ended up racing in and out without seeing much. The guided tour of the venomous spiders, scorpions and such was really good, and I learnt quite a lot. The opportunity to hold a snake was pretty cool.
