Overall the hotel was great, it is all one storey bungalow type apartments, ours was quite large with double locking doors and a nice patio set to sit out on the lovely gardens. Reception were nice and staff in restaurant nice too. Breakfast was quite expensive $15 each in the hotel restaurant, but would stay here again definatly! Stayed for 2 nights and booked on wotif.com to get cheap late deals. For $110 for a room for a night the place was clean, tidy and fresh towels each day. You also go a kettle and fridge and microwave in each room, no complaints here! loved it!

    • Disliked — the cost of the restaurant (although not forced to eat here - was just convenient!)

“Had a laptop stolen from locked room.”

Dont go to Magnetic Island in Feb as everything shuts down at that time of the year, if you do go most tours are closed for maintenance - if you hire a car its not too bad. My husband and I went for a week for our 2nd Anniversary we couldnt even go snorkling as the water was too cloudy and the day we went out to the Outer Reef on the only cruise available the weather was horrible and so everyone on the boat got seasick and only 3 people out of 12 ended up going out on the reef as everyone else felt too sick to go out after a 3 hour trip out there- they also didnt refund any money.

The resort was ok not very modern though and it was about a 10- 15 mintue walk to water/harbour so its really nowhere near a nice beach its down a backstreet so you have to take the bus just to get to shops - there was a few problems with the aircon and the phone in the room when we first got there and there was also ants in the bathroom and the kitchen the whole time so we had to watch out with left overs or dirty dishes. The gardens were nice and also the resturant had great food (i will add that the resturant is seperate management from the resort)

The biggest upset and disappointment that wrecked our whole holiday was that we had our laptop (with 4 years of our life/photos on it) stolen from our locked room while we stayed here, it was also the same day that the cleaners come in but Management swear that it wasnt them. It had to be someone with a key though as we locked and checked our door before leaving that day. The way management dealt with this was shocking too, it was like they didnt want anything to do with it and didnt return calls or chase up the police after we filed a report saying that the report got lost and left it at that and because the police cant give us a copy we couldnt do anything about it, also they didnt compensate us at all and said there insurance dosent cover stolen property from the resort. We asked that the least that they could do was to pay our insurance excess which dosent seem like much as its there reputation at stake but after saying they would get back to us we have never heard anything more from them. After that we have decided never to go back to this resort - if your luggage is not secure in your LOCKED room i dont think you can trust anything with this resort.

Im sorry i had to write this review as im not really the kind of person who complains about anything, both my husband and I are very easy going people and we really didnt care about the resort being a little rundown we were happy just to be on a holiday and we can usually get something possible out of any situation but after the way we were treated with the stolen laptop and to be told that we were liars and that we made the whole thing up (which really hurt us as we are honest religious people) has made us want others who are thinking of going here to think twice before booking and if you do book in to this resort make sure you take anything valuable with you on day trips, dont leave anything in your room while your not there, i would hate to have what happened to us happen to anyone else, this is the main reason why ive written this review.
