Okay, so I am a bit late in writing this review but in July 2012 my partner and I were undertaking the epic trip to Cape York and Cooktown was to be one of the stops on the way up and again back on the way down.
We had booked a cabin at Cooktown Holiday park and, in an attempt to escape the cabin for some decent scenery and surroundings headed into Cooktown to check out the pubs and get something to eat. Unfortunately, due to our levels of hunger we ate at the first pub we found only to find Seagrans later in the evening where we sat outside and enjoyed a drink or two in what was very pleasant surrounding.
On finding out about the accommodation we booked a room for our return trip (and cancelled our booking at Cooktown Holiday Park) and I was really glad we did. The room was fantastic, the balcony was great to relax on after a few days of hard driving, the food couldn't be faulted and the owners couldn't do more to help. We even got drinks and dinner brought up to us on the balcony.
I can't remember how much the room cost but I seem to remember it actually being cheaper than one of the cabins at the holiday park.
The actual spelling of this place is Seagrens, not Seagrans but hey, it's not likely to get confused with anything else in Cooktown
