“Beautiful spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

Amazing views of Cooktown and a very interesting spot due to the history of its use and location. Kids lived the adventure. Excellent photo opportunities.

“Absolutely Awesome!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

Drove up the hill to where Captain Cook visited to get an idea of how his surroundings were to get his ship The Endeavour out again to sea after repairs. The views were spectacular to say the least!
How magical this place is and we highly recommend this to everyone as accessibility is for anyone.

“Where in the world....???”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

Do you get a 360 degree view of the world from a short uphill walk from the centre of town....???

Fantastic location... we made sure we were there for the sunrise.. magical, and nothing a photo from my basic camera can capture...

Walk from there down through the track to the bays and back through the botanic gardens for a great outing..

Or for those who want the easy option.. drive to the top and park out the front!... and coast down after for a good coffee and brekky...

Don't go home from Cooktown and not go to the hilltop...

“Great views over Cooktown”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

Great views of all of Cooktown. There are some picnic tables at the top so you can take your food up and appreciate the view all over the Endeavour River system and the town.

“One of the world's great views!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

The 360 degree view from the top of Grassy Hill is stunning - the same view of the Barrier Reef, the Endeavour River, and surrounding hills that Captain Cook had in 1770 plus now Cooktown. There are interpretive signs at the top and also walking tracks as well as a lighthouse - well worth the short drive to the top.
