Set amongst beautiful trees with heaps of established walking trails nearby. The hosts were friendly and helped with anything we needed. Room was great- clean, aircon, fans, fridge, tea/coffee. The restaurant was excellent- best meals we had all holiday. Continental Breakfast was excellent to start our family off for the day. Kids spent heaps of time in the lagoon style pool with trees and ferns overhanging - really in the heart of the rainforest. Highly recommended.

Ferntree is right across the road from the beach (3 minute walk) and has a great games room and awesome accom in the rainforest ! It seems to cater from backpackers to motel rooms. The restaurant was awesome value and the service in the restaurant was great . Great value for Money right in the heart of cape tribulation. !!

I recently stayed at the Ferntree Rainforest Resort for 2 nights with my teenage sons. We had a lovely stay and found the resort to be very clean and the staff very helpful. The two swimming pools were great and the resturant was really nice. I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed here for a couple of days in the middle of our honeymoon, the staff were lovely and helpful especially when the phone lines were down and we could not access EFTPOS facilities. The rooms were neat and tidy, we did have a lot of little geckos inside our room but I guess that is part of the charm of staying in a rainforest. My only complaint about the whole stay would be the bed, it was rock hard and did not make for a good nights sleep, other than that, an enjoyable stay.

When my sister and I were planning our trip to Tropical North Queensland, we wanted to make sure we stayed where we would have the most exposure to the rainforest, and yet still be comfortable. The Ferntree really filled the bill for us. We booked a private cabin for 2 nights. The cabin itself is comprised of the main area, which is the bedroom with a very large, comfy king size bed and lots of windows to look out onto the tropics that surround you. There is an air conditioner that worked very well in the heat of the afternoon. The bathroom is of decent size with shower only, no bath. And there's a little alcove off the bedroom that has a spot to set a suitcase, a counter with a hot water kettle, and below is a small refrigerator. Inside the fridge we found coffee packets, tea, sweeteners and the little containers of milk. On the front porch there was wicker seating for 2 and a coffee table. It was nice each morning to sit out there, drink our coffee, and listen to the sounds of the rainforest.

The Cassowary Café put on a decent breakfast buffet each morning. We were disappointed that we were a few weeks early to enjoy the fresh exotic tropical fruit grown in the area. But the cantaloupe, watermelon and especially the pineapple were delicious. There were yogurts, breads, muffins, cereals, fruit, juices, milks, coffees and teas. I believe there were packets of instant oatmeal as well. There was enough to give us a good start to a day of exploring. And the girl who worked there was very sweet and kept it well stocked.

The staff in the lodge were very friendly and helpful. Our first morning we reported that our shower head dripped loudly all night. When we returned that afternoon, we had a brand new shower head!

The 2 pools on the property are very nice. After a day of enjoying the beach (but not the sea... jellyfish warning!) we had a swim in the pool by the lodge and it was lovely. Perfect temperature.

The location of the Ferntree is just amazing! It sits back in the rainforest and you're surrounded by the sights, sounds and smells. We felt like we were thousands of miles from civilization, but a short walk to the lodge or the Cassowary Café and we had wifi! And in less than a 10 minute walk, we were at the most beautiful beach, Myall Beach. There were warnings everywhere that it was box jellyfish season and enter the water at your own risk. Between the jellyfish and the warning of saltwater crocs, we were satisfied with strolling the beach, rather than going in for a swim!

I would love to come back to the Ferntree and bring more family. I can just see kids and grandkids enjoying it as well. The garden lofts look wonderful for families. I would recommend this place to anyone. If you're someone who's looking for luxury and pampering, you might want to stay in Port Douglas. But for those who are looking for an up close and personal visit with the Tropical North, this is the place for you!

Nice environment and resort. Rooms are a bit run-down.
Free Wifi only in the lobby and breakfast area.
Free parking.
Breakfast was quite simple, not much choice.
Very friendly and helpful owners.

Overall due to the price and tripadvisor ratings I had expected a bit more.
Not sure if I would stay again - but as always this is also a question of options and prices.
