Many thanks for a lovely stay at Zengarra. After an exerting walk up nearby Mt Greville we arrived to a warm welcome from Mike and the dogs before settling down in front of the fire with tea and homemade biscuits courtesy of Chris.

Mike made us feel at home right away and Chris' cooking was a delight both at dinner and the following morning with a fantastic cooked breakfast. Note to others - make sure you try the potato scones. The evening's wine and music recommendations were much appreciated and the service was impeccable.

Our room was tidy and comfortable, although on reflection we wish we'd gone for the blue room with bath rather than the green room with shower.

One night only for us on this occasion but we'd love to return and spend a bit more time exploring the area.

Many thanks for a wonderful stay.

We recently visited Boonah district for the first time. Looking for something special, my wife and I found a unique luxury retreat in Zengarra Country House. Zengarra caters for couples seeking peace but also a little pampering. Hosts Chris & Mike provide not only beautiful meals but Chris, an exceptionally talented musician, played for us while we dined before the comfort of a lovely fire.Zengarra located under picturesque Mt Grenvile, is a short drive from the scenic lake and trendy cafes of historic Boonah. Zengarra offers travellers something special and out of the ordinary

Room Tip: Hosts Mike and Chris offer 3 comfortable and luxory appointed room styles, including one with a huge...

Thank you for your review, we had a great time looking after you. We are glad you found the facilities helped you. We have had the big log fire blazing for several days now, seems so welcoming to sit by, when listening to Christine play.

Although I only stayed one night, it was like I had been there for longer. I stayed in the Red Suite in the magnificent Four Poster bed made on the premises. I only wanted a light meal & was given exactly what I wanted. I thoroughly enjoyed the home cooked meals Christine created from produce grown at Zengarra. The free range eggs & fresh fruit for breakfast from the orchards made leaving very difficult. The house is beautiful & full of quirky things such as funny books by your beside for you to dip into with also a large range of other books available. Mike and Christine are very warm, Christine with her beautiful music& cooking and Mike with his knowledge of the surrounding area and they just make you feel like nothing is too much trouble. If you want peace & tranquility with a little bit of fun, Zengarra is the place to be. The views from the decks are amazing. Thank you Christine and Mike for a wonderful experience. Will definately be back again but for a longer stay...

Room Tip: Red Suite is fantastic

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights and were the only guests at the time. There is a lot to like about this place... the location is gorgeous, the house is magnficent and the very friendly and stately owner Mike will do anything to help you have an unforgettable stay (e.g. bookings for restaurants, directions to galleries and wineries, and selecting perfect mood-setting music).

There's plenty at and around Zengarra to keep you busy if that's your thing, and plenty to keep you at peace if that's what you're after too. Even the resident Labradors seem to sense your preference and behave accordingly.

We dined there one night and were suitably impressed. Mike got a post-dinner fire going and we had a great chat over a snifter or two. My encounters with Chris, however, were bizarre. I didn't warm to her at all and by the end of our stay it was fairly clear the feeling was mutual.

We laughed it off though, and in the end were very grateful to them for giving us a great pre-baby getaway.

Thank you very much for your kind comments and we were very pleased that you enjoyed your pre-baby getaway quiet weekend in the beautiful Scenic Rim.
We are glad you were impressed by Christine's Five Course Candle-light dinner, it's good to know her hard work is appreciated as she had tailored it specially to your coming baby.
Happy that your drive the next day around some of the fabulous wineries we have here so close by went so well and thanks for collecting the extra case of wine for us on your travels; the Scenic Rim wines are growing in demand from our guests.
Enjoy the avocados from the orchard and we hope everything goes well with the birth; do let us know when the happy event has occurred. Chris is very sorry that you did not appreciate her sense of humour, which she uses to hide her shyness; never happened before, and she has promised not to joke with you when you return.

Kookaburras in the morning! ......cicadas at night!............well cicadas all day actually! You are in the country here. A lovely spot where you can do as much or as little as you wish.
Even your own "Concert on the Hill" with Christine playing her piano and marimba.....the beautiful sounds coming from her music studio.
Mike, as mine host has been born to the job, and has many stories to tell.
......and then dinner is a must . Beautiful food ....as good as it gets sitting on the deck ......most enjoyable.

Thanks for your review you were great fun to look after. Christine was playing Phantom of the Opera on the Marimba beautifully last night when we had a fantastic sunset, I was sitting with guests sipping a superb wine to listen. It's a tough job! Please come again.

Pastoral surroundings, spaciously elegant, modern homestead accommodation with comfortable guest areas. Interestingly furnished with oriental artefacts and a good library. Mine hosts - attentive, friendly and helpful. Nearby there are plenty of sights of interest to keep you occupied or you can stay in and read. The B&B is out of the way, so night dining there is the best option. Why wouldnt you? The food is excellent and varied and its setting - charming.

Serendipity plays its role in a B & B but we are very lucky, we do get lovely guests and hear fascinating stories of very interesting lives. Thanks for coming to stay, and we all (including the labradors) hope to see you again soon.
