“Characterful and cosy with a personal touch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2013

Stayed for one night for a business trip with my wife in tow. I thought £75 was very good for the both of us for B&B in a large, nicely appointed room. The owner Kathryn is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast selection is excellent (huge choice of different sausages).
Good wifi access and speed. Don't let the lack of parking put you off. There is a large public car park just round the corner and the B&B have parking permits for the lay-by across the road.
Recommended.

Room Tip: Room number 1 is large and well worth the extra £5.

Thank you for your review - so glad you enjoyed your stay. Our rooms are actually £65 & £70 (you did only pay £70 honestly!) but as you say the extra £5 for a larger room is well worth it. We hope to see you both again.

This place is really cosy and inviting, my stay here was fantastic and the treats such as the home made cookies were an excellent surprize. Kathryn was very welcoming and the breakfast was fantastic it is always nice to get a bit of home coking when away. I cant this of anything that I would want to change about my stay, parking is a bit tricky but not the fault of the Gallery.

Thank you for your lovely review. We're glad you enjoyed your stay with us and hope to welcome you back next year.
Just to clarify, parking is normally easy as it is available from 4pm until 10am the next morning on the road (always spaces available) or if guests arrive early the car park is just a 2 minute walk away. Guests are always advised about our parking arrangements prior to their visit.

One night stay for local interview. Lovely welcome, beautiful character rooms, comfy bed, tasty treats and a superb breakfast. Kindly allowed me to leave luggage and change after interview. If I was staying in Thirsk again I wouldn't hesitate. Thank you.

From the word go Kathryn and her Husband made our stay perfect, she managed to organise a couple of extra things for me and it was all no trouble for her. The B&B is fabulous inside, the room we stayed in was lovely and amazingly well stocked with tea and coffee (lots of different types). The cookies were fantastic! The breakfast they cook is out of this world, its worth staying for that alone! Would we stay again, with out a shadow of a doubt if we go back to Thirsk or the nearby area this will be our first choice!

This B&B is high recommended. The owners are incredibly helpful and welcoming. Upon arrival we were met by Kathryn and shown up to our rooms. The rooms matched all the pictures I had seen on the internet, which for some hotels and B&B's I have stayed in isn't always the case. The room was lovely and spacious for our one night's stay and the bed was very comfortable, with extra pillows and sheets available. It was well stocked up with a selection of teas, coffee and some lovely homemade biscuits - a very nice touch. The bathroom was very clean and well kept and had some very nice soaps and products to use - no need to bring your own!

The breakfast was brilliant. A nice selection of cereals, yogurt, honey, muesli and granola were laid out on the side to help yourself to before a freshly made full-English (or full-Yorkshire) was brought out, cooked to your requests.

I would, and probably will, book this B&B again in the future, and I would high recommend anyone who reads this review to also do the same.

The Gallery B & B is is like a home from home. After a gruelling journey, we were given a warm welcome by the friendly couple who run this small and charming enterprise (there are only 3 rooms).
Our en-suite room was clean, quiet and equipped with fast wifi, which was simple to access. The breakfast was delicious! Lots of choice, local produce cooked to perfection, and beautifully presented. In the evening, eating out was unproblematic as the location is close to the main square. When I next go up north, I will be staying there, in room 3.

Very comfortable rooms for a single person or couple, with everything one could need for an over-night stay to an extended periiod. Breakfast is excellent, in particular the fresh fruit salad and local honey. Location is excellent for working in and around Thirsk and easy walk to many local pubs and restaurants for lunch or evening meal. Far enough from the main centre to be quite and let you have a good night's sleep. Flexible with checking in and out. I have stayed here on several business trips and will book again if the need arises in the future.

Room Tip: Three rooms - two with twin beds and one as a double. One twin is at the front the other at the rea...
