“Fantastic carvery at a great price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2014

First visit here but wont be long before we return. Lovely carvery and they certainly don't skimp on the meat! Nine different variety of veg and gravy to die for! £7.95 on a Sunday and a bit cheaper during the week. Check out the midweek lunch option of a main course and complimentary desert or starter all for £4.95....Great value.
All staff provide service with a smile in a really friendly pub!

“Worst Sunday lunch!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2014

We went as passing and we have previously been to the other restaurant the same family own and had good food there. What a mistake the tables were sticky and cutlery dirty, the seating area is very small and there was no atmosphere. The man serving didn't seem to have. Clue what he was doing as he went back and forth to the kitchen while I was waiting to be served and came back each time with one item! The turkey and beef were very dry and the mash potato looked grey. The roast potatoes and very small stuffing balls both looked like aunt Bessie's frozen foods and the roast potatoes were raw. The veg what was left as it hadn't been replaced was very soft, and tasteless. This has to be one of the worst Sunday lunches I've ever had and won't be returning!!

“Great night!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2014 via mobile

Me and my partner visited on saturday night after recommendations from friends & family and really cant believe what we've been missing out on, I had the soup of the day (which was broccoli) and it tasted out of this world best homemade soup I have tried! My partner had the field mushrooms and again thought that they were beautiful! Followed by a absolutely scrumptious carvery we had a small at £6.95 and that was plenty for us! The meat was so tender and full of flavour! Definitely recommend this pub to anyone & will certainly be returning! Thanks to all the staff that made our saturday night so beautiful!

“CHRISTMAS DAY, NOT SO SPECIAL!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014

Very disappointed with Christmas Day lunch. On arrival no one to greet and show you to your table, we had to wait at bar to ask. Tables no different to any other day, except for cheap crackers. I can have a carvery any day this was supposed to be the most important lunch of the year! Luke warm soup, dried up pigs in blankets and stuffing, then told only one cheesecake left, even though our meal order was placed weeks before.
After spending £290.00 on meals and drinks for five people, I would have expected higher standards!
To the owners, if you can't make Christmas Day Special don't do it!!!
