“Beautiful comfortable rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

Stayed her for one night while visiting relative (did not eat or drink at the pub downstairs so no comment on that). Very comfortable, great shower. Only downside is noise from the pub downstairs but I guess that's to be expected. I didn't really have any dealing with the staff but they didnt seem to be around much during the day.

We visited as a group of 11 friends on a pleasant Saturday afternoon for a few drinks
After only a few minutes in the pub we understood why it was all but empty
The bar staff could barely raise a smile and someone who seemed to be the duty manager seemed determined to cause an extended argument when one of our party ( a former licensee himself) "dared" to suggest that one of the pints was not its best and asked for a fresh one.
Needless to say , we all left after the one drink seeking somewhere else to relax and enjoy the afternoon

Very poor customer service from the bar staff all because my friend, a licensee, asked for a new pint. Not impressed at how the barman and his groupie actually tried to start an argument over a silt filled, cloudy, last of the barrel pint of beer. Pleased to say other pubs, particularly the Bluebell were excellent and extremely welcoming.

This place has the lot. A night out great food and bar as well as great value for money rooms. Very comfortable beds and good happy staff. Lovely place and nice town to visit. We stopped in family room which was really nice and ate in the restaurant which was very nice.

We stopped here just before we went on holiday from east mids and it was the perfect way to start our great week in the sun.
Very comfortable room, happy staff and a real nice breakfast. Add to that a fantastic meal in a lovely restaurant and it really was the best start to our holiday.
I would recommend everyone to start there hOliday like we did.

Booked superior room which was terribly small. Less than 10inches between bed end and set of tall drawers so unless you are aged 5 or under you will struggle to move around. If this was superior would not like to see standard. No double glazing and on street windows so expect to be up early with the noise. Needs upgrading to justify the price. Breakfast served to pungent and overwhelming smell of commercial disinfectant. Stripped my throat but the flies seemed to be immune.

We found this lovely, clean and friendly hotel online and enjoyed a comfortable stay in a nice room. The restaurant food was outstanding value and very good quality. When we came down to dinner we were surprised to find a very lively bar downstairs, this was great to see but it was doubly good as we were not disturbed at all by any noise and indeed were surprised it could be so lively downstairs.

Breakfast was really good with a friendly check out. We hope to stay again when we need to head to that part of the world again.
