“Well Worth A Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2010

A truly nice place to stay, stayed there over night in room 11 one of two suites on the top floor, very impressive complete with four poster bed, large flat screen tv and stereo cd player not to mention dvd player , everything has been thought about & provided for, bathroom with corner bath and shower all immaculate and very clean as was the room.
Polite friendly staff compliment the place, very different from the “ same as “ big hotel chains which we are used to staying at, nothing wrong with them but this place provides a much more personal feel .
I have to agree about all the comments regarding the breakfast, superb freshly cooked full English with additional choices catered for, cereals fresh fruit & continental style ect,all served round a large breakfast table along with fellow guests, which works quite well .
Secure gated parking so no worries there, 3 Indian restaurants in the town along with three pubs, we ate at the Indian next to the Coop store, and it was spot on.
Kegworth house is ideally situated for Nottingham, Loughborough & also not far from Derby, Looking forward to staying there again soon, well worth a stay, a well deserved 5 star.

We stayed for 1 night in this hotel, in room number 6 which is one of the most expensive rooms. It was a very large room with a huge polished wooden sleigh bed and a leather sofa as well as an enormous marble-flagged bathroom with a freestanding clawfooted bathtub. The decoration throughout was wonderful with amazing attention to detail, great lighting, a comfy mattress and nice soft bedding. We arrived at dusk and the room felt very cosy. Photographs on the hotel website really don't do the rooms full justice.

Breakfast was absolutely jaw-dropping, with freshly made fruit salad, cereals and granola, yoghurts, croissants and rolls and toast, freshly cooked full English breakfasts... and all the staff we met when we checked in and out and during breakfast were very cheerful and friendly. We're already planning a return visit :-)

I have now stayed at Kegworth House on business twice this year. I deferred a review after my first stay in May as I couldn't beleive that such a fantastic place existed in the UK, but now that I have visited a second time, and stayed in a different room, I can confirm that the excellent reviews are all true. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable with all the usual B&B accoutements and also DVD/CD playing facilities, bring your own or borrow from Reception. Bathrooms luxurious, modern during May visit and old fashioned with roll top bath this time. Breakfast round the kitchen table with fellow guests maintains the country house feel and the selection is brilliant. Both times I have stayed for meetings and experienced lunch and dinner. Lunch in particular is fabulous with an outstanding array of hot and cold dishes and desserts served on the same table as breakfast, I had a brilliant lamb tagine with dates and sweet potato followed by Eton Mess for pud! Colleagues and I ordered dinner in advance from a small menu, I had seabass, again cooked perfectly and with a vast selection of side dishes. The room we use for our meeting during the day is nicely reset for dinner in the evening and we enjoyed pre-drinks in the comfortable lounge. In summary, as the ad says, If Carlsberg did Guest Houses, they'd do them like Kegworth House.

This small hotel was absolutely beautiful. Our room was so comfortable done in cottage style and the bathroom was a great size with a free standing roll top bath - luxury. Everything was immaculate and the staff were so friendly. We had read that the breakfast was to die for and it certainly was - everything you could possibly want. They also had a huge parking area which is secured by large gates and the garden is a lovely peaceful place where on a nice day you could sit and have a glass of wine and admire the well tended flowers. Unfortunately we were only spending one night in this hotel but we would love to come back again.

Fantastic place to stay. I have never felt so welcome as I did when staying here, nothing was too much trouble and very happy to tell you about the various places to eat in the village of Kegworth - The Indian Restaurant was lovely. The room was wonderful(no 6) ,very clean and everything you could want -lovely big room, flat screen tv,coffee, bottled water and my favourite bit Cd player with speakers in the bathroom so that you could lay in the roll top bath listening to music..
Breakfast had everything you could wish for and freshly made at whatever time you wanted to have breakfast.
Would definitely love to stay again.

Booked with laterooms for $80 a night. Happy with the place, so near to the Motorway, and the rooms are comfortable, clean and very beautiful. Sitting area, tv and real wood furniture. A great sense of being in a village and having room to breathe.
Breakfast was either full english, freshly cooked, or continental.
Loved it.
