“Excellent new year celebration”

We stayed at The Yew Lodge Hotel for their New Years Eve Celebration and stayed for 2 extra nights. The Yew Lodge is an excellent hotel and as the weather was poor this new year we made use of Reeds Leisure Club. We have stayed at The Yew Lodge on numerous occasions and always find the rooms warm, clean and comfortable. Staff are courteous and friendly. One criticism this year. The Orchard Restaurant has 2 AA rosettes and the food has previously been outstanding, far better than you would expect but this new year it just missed that extra touch as the presentation was not as good as usual. Still excellent food and great value for money if part of a BBEM package. I would highly recommend the hotel and look forward to staying again soon.

Booked last minute through Travelzoo for my birthday on a dbb rate with gorgeous hot chocolate on arrival. Had a great stay used all the facilities the spa and gym were excellent. Good size pool for a hotel and it wasnt too busy. Room was lovely on the second floor, although tv picture wasnt the greatest but wasnt there to watch the tv! Meal was lovely although as per other reviewer was a little rushed we also got through three course in an hour but for the deal we got the food was excellent. Had a couple of drinks in the bar not too pricey and had nice comy sofas to relax on. Breakfast was buffet with plenty of choice but the bacon was poor for a 4 star! Will definately stay here again if this deal is available as a treat for me and the hubby!

This hotel was booked so we could meet up with friends and stay the night before flying off on holiday and leave the car there.

We arrived at 6pm, and was advised there was no food available until after 8pm.

When asking a member of staff where the bar was, he told me he was too busy.

The bed was very uncomfortable.

And no option for breakfast before leaving.

And only an 8 seater mini bus for the transfer to the airport

Thank you for your feedback after your recent park and fly.

I am sorry you were unable to dine with us the evening you stayed.
Due to the 400 diners that evening we did cut of a period that would help reduce the waiting time for guests.

I am sorry that the staff said they were too busy to assist, this is most unusual and I would like to know further who this was if you know, I can then ensure this does not happen again.

We offer continental breakfasts in the morning, on the back of the door there is a menu which just gets hung outside the door.

Sorry you did not enjoy your stay; if you contact me direct next time you are flying from East Midlands Airport I will arrange a preferential rate for you.

Bought this through travelzoo,£89 ,hot chocolate on arrival,b,b,em.this is a great place to park and fly for East Midlands airport.we took it for a night away sat.28th dec, as our n.y.eve treat.checked in then sat in the lounge to have our luxury hot chocolate.the hotel is certainly 4 star,with a pool,jacuzzi and steam room etc.room was lovely.we took a walk into the village 5mins away,stopped at a real ale pub the red lion which we went back to after evening meal.meal was 3course very good food but a little rushed we did it an hour,breakfast was buffet,plenty choice and they cooked me an omelette on request.will definitely recommend and use again particularly if using e m airport?only reason I didn't give 5 stars was we were in room 318 please avoid ,right by the stairs,was woken at half 4 someone dragging cases on the stairs.then again at8.45am by cleaner vaccing the stairs right outside the room.please mr.manager it was Sunday morning!!!!!!

We had a one night New Year celebration package at the Best Western Yew Lodge Hotel. Staff was very friendly, pleasant and helpful. The room was excellent, clean, and tidy. The New Year celebration function was very good as well. Good food, disco and live band. Only downside was the size to the dance floor which could have been a tad bigger but that is just being picky!! The hotel also has a large car park. We did not use the Leisure complex but it looked good. Would definitely stay here again.

I came with a female friend on a break from travelzoo. a really good deal and absolutely no problems with the deal or hotel. very helpful nothing was to much trouble, they swapped things around for various people while we were there. the room was fabulous 304 and the food was the best we have had. plenty of staff in the restaurant who were cheerful and helpful without being in your face or rushing you. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it.the spa was lovely when we used it but we did look in a couple of other times and it did seem busier and there were some children using it so wasn't exactly peaceful and the only negative side with it was that the drink fountain wasn't working properly so everyone was getting very thirsty so a proper drinks fountain with plastic cups would be a good idea.
