I went there at around 10 a.m on a Sunday morning in summer and had a bacon sandwich with ketchup and a pot of tea. It was gorgeous. The bacon was lean back bacon - beautifully cooked and plenty of it - in what seemed like a large homemade warm panini. There was salad with it with everything in - lettuce, rocket, tomatoes, cucumber, onion, raw carrot, sweet corn, fresh raw peas, celery, - and more - with the most glorious homemade dessing on. We had a seat by the window next to the enormous bird table which had dozens of different birds flying on and off it and used the provided bird books to identify the more unusual ones. I loved it - but the prices were a shock.
I should love to go there more often but not at the prices they charge. I don't mind paying a fair price for good food and service (and this IS good food and service) but these prices are ridiculous and I don't like being ripped off.
Bamford Garden centre, up the road, also has lovely food and good service at realistic prices. You can't watch the birds there of course - but then you can't have everything.
