This was our second time at the RR,we stayed for 2 nights to welcome in the new year, the guesthouse is very cosy & the rooms are spotless, the owners are very nice people and make you feel very welcome & nothing is too much trouble for them. The breakfast is very good and sets you up for the day,The village of castleton is great a few nice shops and even better,, half a dozen great pubs,so all in all we had a great couple of days and we will be back to the RR hopefully in 2013 :o)

We stayed here on 16th December for one night. The room was very clean, quiet and cosy. Breakfast was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Good location near the town centre with a good car park. The Ramblers Rest was recommended to us and we would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Castleton, which has plenty of good places to eat and drink and looks great at Christmas with the illuminations.

stopped at the ramblers rest on 29th nov and 1st dec 2012 , and what a lovely place . we`ve stayed in castleton quite a few times now and this b&b is one of the best. very god centeral location with its own car parking . all the shops , cafes and bars just a stones throw away . robbie and claire are great hosts and they cook a mean breakfast ! claire was brilliant to us . let us park in the car park early so we could do a 9 mile walk. and as we drove up there she rang to say we could have the room key straight away ( not many people do that ). we stayed in room two ( which can actually a family room ) . very good size room ,plenty of storage and a spa bath ! the double bed is massive and very comfortable . we will definitly stay here again.

Room Tip: if you like plenty of room with a spa bath , room two is exellent !

I stayed is this charming Guesthouse years ago and again in late October, 2010. The 'new' owners have have put much effort into enhancing the place. It really is a gem and the hosts truly welcome you. My room was extremely comfortable with all I wanted, including wifi which is in all bedrooms. The Ramber's is perfectly positioned in the lovely town of Castleton and is truly tranquil. The Full English breakfast is superb with 'proper' sausage and bacon and free range eggs. Ample parking and all the necessary requisites for the weary traveller.
I can only described The Ramblers' as a fine Peak District B&B. Maybe it wouldn't suit some people from the south who are not ramblers!

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet. Room 5 is really a suite and has it's own separate entrance.

First of all, Castleton is a wonderful town. A real must-see. And if you're there, this is a fine B&B. After a grueling day struggling with a faulty GPS device and driving all over kingdom come, we found our way to Rambler's Rest much later than intended. What an appropriate name! We had a very warm, friendly reception from Claire. She gave us a huge room (we really appreciated large rooms at this point on our trip), and gave us great advice on what to see and do and where to eat. The room was clean , comfortable, & spacious. There was a parking place, too (phew) and a great breakfast the next morning. We hope to return to Castleton someday as there is so much to do there, and we were not able to stay as long as we would have liked. When we do come back, this is where we will stay. Thanks, Claire.

We loved this place. The hostess was very, very helpful and our room was sweet and not too small. The owner recommended Ye Olde Nags Head for dinner which was wonderful for dinner and had a lounge that could be a nice place to stay up late over something to drink.

Room Tip: I believe all the rooms are good. But we really like the double en suite on the 2nd floor. The bathr...

This is a great place to stay. Claire is so friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely - very spacious with a large bathroom and jacuzzi. Much nicer than the average hotel or B and B. Breakfasts are tremendous and the home made bread is great. The B and B is in the centre of Castleton within walking distance of a number of good pubs and restaurants. some nice touches such as a corkscrew and a couple of wine glasses in the rooms. highly recommned this place

Room Tip: room 2 was fab
