There is really nothing to complain about here, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left we can only say our stay was near perfect.
The service from ALL the staff we encountered was really the best we have experienced in a long time and I would go as far to say it was a model of best practice. Just the small things like the housekeepers staying good morning to you as you pass which do make a difference. We were checked in quickly, efficiently, politely and professionally by Sarah. Very welcoming, gave us all the information we needed to know and gave our two young children coloring packs. The other outstanding members of staff to mention was the male waiter working breakfast on the 12/07 and 13/07 and the breakfast chef working 13/07. Really welcoming to our family with the chef even offering to make the children pancakes and milkshakes! - awesome.
We had a family room and it was good to see the room was big enough for us all. Yes the room is a little worn but it was clean and it was still more than suitable. Free tea and coffee, AirCon, free local calls, room service available, wi-fi provided by BT OpenZone (so free if you are a BT customer otherwise there are fees). There is a iron and an hairdryer in the room so everything you need really (apart from a fridge). The bathroom has both a shower and a bath.
The location was ideal for us. Just outside the city near all the major roads to get us where we needed to be. Most of the clients here are obviously for the Airport or for business. Parking was £5 a night for hotel residents which was more than reasonable for us. We had in-and-out privileges too.
The room service and restaurant prices were a little to high for us as a family of four (not a problem if you are on business expenses though) but just a 5 minute drive away is the village of Kegworth. There is a Chinese take-a-way, a Co-Op and excellent Indian restaurant there (Jee Ja Jee's - see trip advisor for reviews). The Indian take-out meal cost £16 for all four of us to eat which was the just the price of one meal at the hotel.
The hotel also had some computers to use in the lobby which appeared to be free, a pool, a free-weights and cardio gym, a hot tub spa, a sauna and steam room. All free to use for hotel quests and open to 10pm! The pool is over a metre deep the whole length so if your children cannot swim make sure you bring arm bands as there is no shallow end.
The breakfast was included with our rate and was really good! Buffet style but all your hot favorites from hash browns to sausages, eggs and bacon to a selection of cold meats including fish! Yogurts and serials.
So we pass on our thanks to all the hard-working welcoming staff for our near perfect stay!
