“pampering through service at it's best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

The rooms: are old looking but you can tell that a lot of money was spent on them as the quality space and layout is quite nice.

The location: is not ideal unless you have a car. This place offers excellent service probably better than most 5 star hotels. The reason is simple the hotel promotes itself as a business conference centre and in that respect the staff will offer you a tailor built service.

Parking: Not an issue as they have loads of space, but be warned even as a resident at the hotel you will have to pay a fee of £5 for parking in their car park.

Fitness centre- The most important thing for me was that their was a indoor pool which was nice a warm nearly, nearly hot Brilliant! but most of all a gym with both cardio machines and free weights. If there is something missing like a bench press ask! they will assemble one! they also have excellent supplements such as a protein drink costing £2 only with 40g of protein! pool large size. there was also a sauna.

Bar: very nice bar lovely lighting and atmosphere also good for small personal business meetings. example of prices beers average £5 whisky over £5 a double espresso and a late machiato costs £8.

Restaurant: the food here is not bad but not to great. asked for my ribeye rear but it came med to well. In all excluding drinks a very small ribeye 8 oz a soup and desert costs £32. The quality of the cut was not as good as the food you would find in a pub either. Desserts were fantastic.

General hotel appearance - Pretty well laid out, old style but with a rich feel I would give it an 8.0 out of 10; for a 4 star hotel.

cleanliness: Superb 10 on 10.

Politeness & helpfulness of staff: second to none and so patient even with unnecessarily rude people!

Would I recommend: yes but look around for better deals in closer locations before.

Room Tip: room 123 it's a corner room with 2 windows and at the back of the hotel where its quiet. Also id...

Got a deal via Holiday Extras for overnight stay prior to flight and a weeks parking (£67) including free transfers. Great Bargain!! We have stayed here previously but in a smaller room - the one this time was larger and at the end of one wing - very quiet. We had the fixed menu meal - 3 courses for £15, again great value and good service. The shuttle drivers were efficient and friendly. We had a substantial delay on our return flight due to snow and the driver was awaiting our return in the airport foyer! Will definitely use again

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet area

Stayed for two nights over new year. Rooms were lovely and clean. Toiletries and plenty of towels in the bathroom. Really quiet, even though the hotel is bordering the m1 motorway. Really nice pool, jacuzzi and sauna. We were about the only people to use it. Staff were really lovely. Only one negative, its not a cheap hotel, nearly £20 for a breakfast......why do they feel the need to charge for parking for hotel residents!!!!!

Room Tip: Our room was on ground floor, but the windows must be great quality as we didnt hear a peep.

This hotel is situated just next to the M1 and close to East Midlands Airport, but is actually quite isolated. Once you’re in the hotel, there is nowhere else to go unless you want drive somewhere or say take a cab to the nearest (small) town of Kegworth. Surprisingly, you will also pay to park there if you arrive in your own car. The parking fees are reduced somewhat for guests but even so…
I got an amazingly good deal to stay here overnight, but that’s where the cost attraction stopped. Because there really is little choice other than to stay in the hotel once you’ve arrived and checked in, the hotel take full advantage of that fact. A pint of lager was charged at £4.80, almost the same as a coffee from the concession in the lounge area. A sirloin steak was charged at over £20.00 and a large glass of wine at £9.00. The steak was cooked to perfection but the cut of meat chewy, so poor value for money. The wine was of the basic standard found in the local Co-op for £2.00 less; for a whole bottle! In fairness, the rest of the food was well cooked and presented although the staff found it difficult to cope despite only 8 or 9 tables in use! They got my order wrong as well. The overall bill for dinner and two glasses of wine was over £50.00 for one person!
If you’re cute, take a packed dinner and a bottle of wine and dine in-room and take full advantage of one of their cheap deals, rather than let them take advantage of you! I left feeling cheated so will never return.

I booked this hotel as I had a late arrival. However, I was very disappointed that the hotel offered no courtesy bus (and it is quite a way, 4 to 5 miles, from the airport).
The staff were very nice and the room spacious, clean and comfortable, with a nice bathroom and teasmaid, etc. It was also quiet. The quality of the room was very good for the price.
However, despite a note saying there was complementary WiFi, that was only in the lobby and, if you wanted it in your room, it was over 14 pounds sterling.
I also think that 5 pounds for overnight parking is also over the top.

Approach to the hotel it seemed ok. Parking was plentiful.
Check in was swift.
Room was well apportioned in the roof.
Bar service was painful. Employee who "wasn't serving" ended up serving me when the other girl couldn't manage the order!
Room service food was quicker than the time it took to order the drinks at the bar earlier! Food was of a decent size and quality.
Nights sleep was peaceful.
Check-out was uneventful although the lobby was layered with typical tourists heading somewhere or other.
Would not recommend as a business hotel based on what I saw during my stay.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your feedback.

We're always looking for way to provide our guests with what they have come to expect when they stay at a Hilton. We pride ourselves on being both a business and leisure hotel and as such cater to both needs. The holiday season has seen a large number of leisure guests stay with us and now we're back to mainly our business guests.

We're well located near the airport and also well centered in the midst of Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire business districts. We're grateful for your feedback and we're getting primed for quick efficient service that our business clients expect.

kind regards
