Have just spent one night at this hotel as we were going to Alton Towers the next day and wanted to stay nearby (only 15 mins away.)
General decor of public rooms is good and clean - there is a comfortable bar area although apparently drinks prices are high. Had 2 twin rooms which were small and basic and rather disappointing. All facilities were provided and adequate but nothing special.
By far the best feature of the hotel is the leisure club. The pool was a good size (water warm) and a well-equipped small gym with new sauna and steam room.
Did not eat dinner there (informed it was expensive and not worth the price) but breakfast was OK - usual cooked and/or cereals etc. Was put off by the stained chair covers in the dining room! Average value for money - we paid £45 pp for B & B. Would recommend for 1 or 2 nights but do not expect luxury! We would not stay there again.
Expect a Travel Lodge type standard with the bonus of a leisure club.
