My partner and I had Sunday lunch here last weekend, after a night away between Leek and Ashbourne. It came highly recommended by family. Luckily as we were on our way home, it was 12pm and they could fit us in, but explained they were fully booked from 1.30pm onwards - always a good sign!
We chose our meal whilst sat by the log burner on a very comfy sofa, with a glass of wine - very relaxing. We weren't rushed and I had a number of questions (fussy eater) which the staff were only too happy to answer and help us with. Lovely atmosphere, nice music, and not too cold/warm :)
We both had the pate to start - DELICIOUS, could have eaten it all over again! I had the roast pork dinner, and my partner the monkfish and king prawn goan curry. We both really enjoyed our meals, but my partner loves a hot curry and even he was looking a bit shiny in the face after eating it! I had a taste and it was beautiful, and the big chillies could have been picked out if you only like a medium curry.
No room for desserts sadly as all my favourite were on the menu.
The bill came to c £50 for two large wines, two pints, two starters and two mains - pretty reasonable I would say!
Will definitely be returning, possibly for the Steak & Wine Wednesday's they were advertising. Think it was £30 for two people to have a bottle of wine and a steak each.
