Quite and comfortable. You pretty much get what you pay for here. The corridor seems a TOUCH narrow and so the doors are close together, there is a few noise leaks. But its ok.

Great for Alton towers! :D

Good refurbishment with very helpful, knowledgeable staff, particularly about local area, town and amenities. The Stepping Stones pub, next to the Travelodge and just a short walk across the car park, was also good with friendly staff.

Room Tip: Some rooms overlook fields

Stayed here for 2 nights from the 25th april. Lovely hotel in a good location. Rooms are warm and clean. Staff are friendly and very helpfull with useful local information about where to eat and directions to local attractions. Be aware of the directions if ur using sat nav as the postcode is incorrect

First off, this is a Travelodge, so if you've stayed in Travelodges before you know what to expect: basic rooms at reasonable rates.
We stayed here as we were spending the weekend at Alton Towers, and with 2 young children travelling with us the hotel was ideal for our needs. We were in a family room situated on the second floor right above the hotel entrance. The room was spacious enough for us without ever giving the feeling of being hemmed in and cramped and as the room was recently refurbished it was nice and fresh.
The only small issue was that the room was incredibly warm, even having the window open didn't seem to make a difference.
There is a pub next to the hotel which serves up standard pub food: we ate there on the Saturday night. The food was ok, but nothing to write home about. Just around thecorner from the hotel there is a Marks And Spencers which stayed open until 8pm, so we stocked up on sarnies etc for the following day to save a bit of money on breakfast and a food at Alton Towers.
Alton Towers itself is around a 15 minute drive from the hotel and very easy to get to.
We had considered staying at the Alton Towers hotel, but when you consider the cost of two nights at this hotel was quite a bit less than 2 nights onsite at AT then it's a no brainer.
Overall then, this is an excellent Travelodge and a great base if you're heading to Alton Towers but don't want to pay the quite frankly ridiculously over inflated prices at the Alton Towers Hotel (and some nearish Premier Inn's too).

We stayed in a family room which was spacious and clean. The travelodge is situated behind The Stepping Stones Public House which where we ate on the evening. If breakfast was available this would have been ideal as only continental breakfast boxes available in the travelodge. Great location for a trip to Alton Towers. Would definitely return.

Nice clean hotel, basic but had everything you need for a brief stop. Perfect for Alton towers! No on site restaurant though but there are various places to get breakfast in the vicinity. You can't beat this for the price.
