“The best place in Ashbourne Food & fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2012

Food fantastic, brilliant friendly service in nice clean surroundings.. Made us so welcome after a miserable stay at the
Miraj hotel which we left in disgust...the Bentley made the remaining stay in Ashbourne worth it after being so upset... Thank you xx

“Friendly service but disappointed with the food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2011

Visiting recently for a meal, it was disappointing to find that the quality of the food served in the restaurant didn't match both the lovely location and the prices being charged, We had the steak and the salmon followed by desserts. The food was not piping hot when it reached the table and was bland and quite dry. On a more positive note the service was friendly and the place was clean. More attention to detail to the quality of the meals is needed to compete with other local pubs offering similar fayre for those people just wanting food not accomodation.

“Just pub food, not really restaurant standard”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2011

The restaurant menu is the same as the bar, mainly hearty meals with chips no salad options. My lasagne was overcooked, dry and chewy but my husband's beef in ale pie was fine. the adjacent family with two patient children asked why they had waited 1/2 an hour for their dessert and if it would be long only to be told that they were busy (only 3 tables occupied!) and it would be about another 1/2 hour. The pub was hosting a wedding party in another part of the building so obviously that is why the service in the main restaurant was suffering.
