“Breathtaking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

We visited the lake at the beginning of Feb and felt like we had it to ourselves. There wasn't another soul to be seen other than the sheep!
Wastwater is truly breathing, some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen. Well worth a visit, will defiantly be returning.

“Just beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013 via mobile

Visited with hubbie & two children (11&16). Set off from The Screes Inn in Nether Wasdale - free parking if you are staying/ eating otherwise there is a walkers car park further down the road. A gentle, flat, 'wellie walk' (hiking boots not really needed) that took us to this beautiful lake with contrasting surroundings. We walked as far as the landing stage before walking back. A really unspoilt beauty spot that has not been invaded by commercialism.

“Escape into nowhere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013 via mobile

Breathtaking! The roads which led us to wastwater were uphill, with sharp curves. The view was awesome, like going into some forest in a fairy tale. No internet/ cellular connection- it was as if we had cut all connections from the world. It is very difficult to reach this place by public transport. A break from the mundane life. This is pure bliss. Must visit if you are anywhere near the Lake District.

“the middle of nowhere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

off the beaten track which is great, shallow edges so you can go paddling, loads of room to get out your picnic rug and if you take enough supplies you can stay all day! kids loved it just playing with their fishing nets, paddling, climbing the rocks !! j
