“Worth a third visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

We have been here twice. We had a great stay here with friends on our first visit and were a bit worried about what it would be like on our second visit without friends...within minutes are worries were dispelled and we had a second great visit here. Food is good but even if you are a guest you must book. There seems to be a huge crowd who come out of nowhere to eat here so make sure that you do book. Accommodation is quaint and old word but rooms a warm, clean and comfortable. Staff is pleasant and helpful. It will be worth another visit.

Seafood is good and enjoyed our meal, but overpriced compared to other food/restaurant outlets in the area.
Okay but don't expect anything special. You will be disappointed if you do. Also drinks prices are a bit steep.
Overall ok but there is better in Ulverston.

An Olde Worlde Inn. Clean, cosy rooms and a warm welcome from the management. If you like old buildings with squeaky floorboards, narrow passages and low beams you will love this place. if you want Boutique Chic then go and pay £200 per night at somewhere like The Swan.

We didn't stay here just called in for lunch. Received a warm welcome from the owners. Ordered the Venison Burger which came with Chips. Chips were of the frozen variety and the Burger didn,t come with side salad. Overall an average experience and wouldn't go back.

A lovely pub for an evening meal and relaxing after a day on the fells. Dogs are welcome and the meals are always very good. This pub is old and rambling with plenty of choice of where to eat. I visited with friends twice in November and again on my own this month and the staff and locals were always friendly and helpful. Last time, the 20oz gammon steak was recommended so I tried it. It was excellent.

We stayed here for a couple of nights- the accomodation was lovely and really warm and cosy. The staff were so friendly, cheerful and welcoming. We ate here on both evenings, and can throughly recommend it. The poritons were large, quality excellent and we both loved it! Such a lovely menu with home cooked food, and interesting specials- very impressive. Breakfast was lovely too- with good quality bacon, sausages etc...
We had a nice small double room, very comfy bed and good facilities in the room.

I would seriously recommend this Farmers Arms- such a cosy, beautiful old place, with fantastic staff and owners. And a little bonus of our trip.....on our last night we both separately thought we saw a ghost in the room... I woke up at 5am, heard my boyfriend get out of bed and thought he had walked to the door to get something off his coat hanging on the back of the door... and was about to ask him what he was doing when he came back in from the bathroom at the other side of the room.... while he was in the bathroom he thought he saw a shadow cross the windows. I have never believed in ghosts before, but pretty sure about what I saw!
