“Good food and service.”

A good menu - the blade of beef was excellent. A very pleasant evening and good location in Ulverston. I recommend a visit.

“Waterwheel restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2012 via mobile

Went in to view the water wheel, ended up staying the night. It was a lovely day and we'd spent most of it in Ulverston. Ventured into the Mill to see the water wheel that is reputed to be some 300 years old. Once we were there we came across the terrace outdoor area, then a bottle of wine and finally their restaurant. The food was splendid, similar in many ways to Tweedies in Grasmere. So many lovely restaurants in Cumbria.

“this place brings it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012 via mobile

At last a real contender to the farmers in ulverston, yes the farmers has the upper hand on seating but for me the mill gets the gold for food, a well thought menu from a team that has passion for food this is one of a few places i only went for two courses but was sooooo good i made an absolute pig out of my self and ate 3. You don't ever feel that they turn tables in this place it's yours for the night. And the great thing is the specials and main menu are available through the day. Sunday lunch is a treat here too. It's a young management team here and the passion shows. On a warm day check out the secret beer garden, a proper northern treat this place is.

“Swish and swanky(ish)”

Probably the poshest bar by Ulverston standards. Working water wheel inside is a feature. Food is nice if portion size a little too small. Drinks are quite expensive but they serve mostly top end brands. Great whisky bar.
