“Great food, cosy atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

Interior is very cosy and pub-like with a lot of effort put into the furnishings. The service was terrific although it was relatively quiet at that time so it was hard to gauge what it'd be like when busy.

The food itself was nice and didn't have to wait too long. I had gammon steak. The portions are large (always a good thing) with the quality of food being slightly better than modern "pub grub".

I would probably pop back into the farmers arms if I were to be back down in the area

“Good food, friendly staff, pleasant pubby atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

Had lunch here near a roaring open fire. Large portions of good, wholesome food. Staff were helpful and the prices reasonable. Worth a visit.

“Good food, good service, good time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012 via mobile

We ate here our first night staying in Ulverston after a recommendation.

It really didnt disappoint. I had a steak cooked medium rare, it came exactly as it should be and was a good quality meat.

Service was excellent.

The atmosphere and feel of this place is very good. If you're visiting Ulverston you will struggle to find better.

“Reasonable food at reasonable prices”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

We had a large family outing for lunch. Service was pleasant and quick. Portions were large. My steak and kidney pie was almost too big but quite tasty - the vegetables, however, were distinctly undercooked and tasteless. The rest of the family were satisfied, or better, with their meals but no-one managed to finish them.
