I stayed for one night in late October and have no complaints. OK I was the only guest that night so there was no problem with crowding. The place may lack a little atmosphere, and my room also lacked a chair, but I really can't complain about much at just £16.50 a night including light breakfast. New owners were friendly, did research on weather and bus times for me. If I would moan about something it's the fact that the place is hard to find if you don't know Ulverston (as I didn't). There are no signs pointing to it, as you get with YHA places, and nothing on the official town signs. In fact, it's just next to the big supermarket near the canal. If you're walking in south Lakeland, or doing the Cumbria Way, as I was, you'd be hard pressed to find better value than this hostel.
