“Wonderful New Year Break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2014

Ravenbank Guest House is just gorgeous and the views all around it are breathtakingly beautiful. We were made to feel very welcome and really appreciated little touches like packets of tissues and a hottie bottle in the room as well as being equipped with a torch to help guide our way back to the house at night. The room was spotless and the bed was really comfy. Breakfast was great too. We'll definitely be booking again if we're visiting Staveley (which I'm sure we will be, with the added attraction of the Hawkshead Brewery!). I'd recommend it to anyone, unless you have difficulties walking uphill, as the house is situated at the top of a steep-ish drive (hence the wonderful views).

We spent a lovely weekend here, and it's highly recommended. Lovely, clean and spacious, and we had the room with the private (not en-suite) bathroom. The house is set back up on a hill, we walked into the village in the evenings (with the thoughtfully provided torch) and saw Barn Owls and bats on our way. Quiet and peaceful, lovely welcoming hosts, yummy breakfasts!
We would also recommend the Eagle and Child for dinner, as well as the Hawkshead Brewery for real ale fans.

My sister and I stayed with Ted and Heather whilst we attended a Bread Making course nearby. We were made to feel very welcome, Ted and Heather were so helpful nothing was too much trouble. The house and rooms were spotless and very comfortable. All in all a great B and B.

I seem to be on a bit of a roll, as last week I think I found the best B&B in Grasmere, this week I seem to have hit the best B&B in Staveley. Nice house, lovely gardens and really friendly owners. The walk into Staveley really isn't that far either (where I can recommend the Beer Hall for some top food and drink)

We had a fantastic couple of nights at Ravenbank going for a friend's wedding. The room was very comfortable and clean, yummy breakfasts and Heather and Ted made us feel very welcome and were very helpful. Great surroundings with mainly sheep for neighbours! I would definitely stay there again and would be happy to recommend.

Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our recent trip to Cumbria and our stay at the Ravenbank Guest House in Staveley. Ted and Heather are such lovely hosts. The entire house was spotless and the breakfast excellent. Even remembered how I liked my bacon for the second morning. Fabulous views too. Downside: a bit of a walk into the village for us personally, the bed was a little too small for us and the absence of anywhere to sit, other than the room, whilst waiting for our fellow guests before going out for dinner in the evenings. For 2 nights though, really lovely.

Room Tip: there are just the two rooms available and both were lovely.

A very nice, clean place with fabulous views. We'll no doubt return to Staveley and when we do we'll stay here again. I wouldn't normally choose a room that didn't have en suite (I was aware of this when booking), but this place was so tip-top that I'd have no qualms about staying in the same room again. The view from the private bathroom (and bathtub!) was amazing. Ted and Heather are genuinely friendly people and cooked up a lovely breakfast including egg from their own chickens and some beans on request!

Room Tip: Be aware that the king size room isn't en suite but you do get a private bathroom right next doo...
