We decided against paying over the odd's for a lunchtime meal at a local Castle's tearoom and instead headed to the Bull's Head in Shap, we had passed it in the car earlier and had spotted a sign advertising their Roast Dinners.
The pub is simply decorated, and yes, with very basic toilet facilities (possibly worth spending a few bob on!)
However, we ordered a Roast Dinner each, thats 2 adults with 4 children aged 2,6,11 and 14.
They advised us not to order for our smallest one, and instead offered us a plate and a spoon! Brilliant! She isn't the biggest of eaters and many other pubs will insist on an order.
The service was excellent, they really went over and above my expectations.
We asked for things not on the menu and we were catered for.
The prices were spot on. Neither really cheap and definitely not too expensive either. Oh, and I forgot to mention, the food itself was FANTASTIC! All locally sourced, the chef was clearly very proud of this, and so she should be, it was fresh, cooked to perfection and the portions very generous!
