Children aged 5, 8 and 10 plus two adults parked at the old white lion pub (£4 but refundable against anything if returning). We walked up and was surprised at how the youngest loved the incline and our daughter didn't do that face all girls of a certain age do. The views were stunning and we stopped for refuelling before the heavens opened on the decent and the winds picked up. Other walkers helped us on our way with a friendly wave or hello and words of encouragement. 3.5 hours of stunningly beautiful scenery and a real family bonding day to live long in the memory. A MUST DO for beginners such as ourselves, the hot chocolate at the 'lion' at the end was well earned by all!
