My partner, dog and I stayed for 2 nights in September and had a great time.

We were fortunate enough to stay in the Rotunda in the grounds of the hotel and I can certainly say we all absolutely loved it.

The mod cons within the room are amazing with lights, tv, and shower room being controlled by remote control and also an iPhone docking station with surround sound.

The furnishings are lovely and in keeping with the feel of the Rotunda and the shower room is luxurious to say the least. It was in immaculate condition and very clean. The only problem I found was that there were no drawers for clothes and not enough hangers in the wardrobe so we lived out of our bags for the 2 days.

We ate in the hotel both nights as the food was so lovely the first night that we didn't dare try anywhere else. We took our dog with us for dinner and the staff set up a table close to the bar area where we could eat with her.

On our second morning we requested room service for our breakfast and the 2 girls had to take our food up to the Rotunda on trays. It was a lovely end to our stay there and the breakfast was very good.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone but especially dog owners as they were so welcoming and accommodating to our requirements.

Hopefully my photos will do the Rotunda more justice than my description!

We have just got back from a two night break - an amazing offer from Living Social, and cannot fault anything! Yes, The hotel may need some small renovations in some places but we really thought it added to it's olde world charm.( we do not tend to go fpr modern impersonal places) The grounds at the back are enchanting. We had a bedroom with 4 poster and jacuzzi bath which was clean and very comfy. We did not use the pool etc as my husband forgot his swim gear! The food was excellent standard and absolutely delicious- the chef must be complimented! The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Highly recommended for a break.

We stayed at Newby Bridge Hotel for a 2 night weekend stay. Overall the stay was very enjoyable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food at breakfast and at dinner was very good. We had 2 family rooms which consisted of a double bed and a single bed. The rooms very comfortable although a bit tired. Bathroom was very small but adequate. Generally the rooms were clean, although there were some cobwebs on the ceiling which should have been dealt with.
We didn't use the spa so can't comment on this.
The car park is quite small and is very tight so not easy to park in, especially if it's full, which it was when we arrived.
Would recommend this hotel for a short break

We have just stayed at the Newby Bridge Hotel and found the staff extremely friendly and kind. We were given a Garden Room which was in the grounds of the hotel. This was very comfortable and clean and had its own car parking area. The Chef has to be complimented; the food was absolutely delicious, both breakfast and evening meals. Ten out of ten for presentation!

We stayed here on a 2-2-2 which is 2 nights b+b plus 1 evening meal for £222, it is close to being good value but sadly:
Bedroom - new furnishings, comfy bed but nowhere near clean
Hallways - carpets dirty, walls need painting
Spa - steam room no use and needs a clean, pool ok
Dining room - cobwebs, floor dirty - food ok
rest of hotel - badly in need of painting and deep cleaning
I reckon if a few £ were spent on this hotel it could be 5 star and the location is great, however we would not go back unless it was refurbed, not even at £30 a night

Room Tip: family room has plenty of space
