“good value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2010

Had a great stay landlady and staff very friendly made us feel very welcome, great breakfast and an excellent base for mountain bikers and fell walkers.

All the mountain bikes were kept under lock and key which was very re-assuring
would definitely recommed as very good value for money.

I have stayed here three times in the last eighteenth month's, once with family (wife, 9yr old and 1yr old) and twice with mate's on a Mountain Bike weekend (great base). On all 3 occasions I have stayed the food, rooms were spot on, the rooms were clean and of very good standard.
The views from anywhere inside or outside are picturesque.
This is one Inn that is well worth the stay; Angie and Mike are 1st class as are their staff and they make you feel at home (no matter how muddy you are).

We stayed here with our 5 month old baby, our room was comfortable and we were well looked after by the owners Michael and Angie. Restaurant provides yummy top quality food with an excellent view to gaze apon. Will def return here when we visit the Lake district again.

An inn at the budget end of the market and in places it shows. The room was very small, lacking some essentials such as towel rails and bathroom shelves. Also not alot of soap and shampoo and it was not topped up daily.
The view was superb to the west fells and it is well sighted for travellers, being alongside a main road.
The food was excellent in quality and at reasonable prices.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
