My daughter, my best friend and her teenage daughter and I went to this beautiful B&B for the May Bank Holiday. Upon arrival, we marvelled at the beautiful hills and valleys and the numurous lambs prancing around the fields around us. The farmyard smell was there but after about 5 minutes, we competely forgot about it. We were greeted by Hazel, a down-to-earth businesswoman who also had a pang of humour, she showed us to our bedrooms. One of the bedrooms had a beautifuul view, but ours was the tea shop, but we didn't mind! The room was beautifully set out and we met another couple who had been there before at the breakfast table. The breakfast was lovely and set us up for our walks head. Hazel told us what restaurants were nice and how right she was! We chose Rosthwaite after my daughter went there and fell in love with it. We thought we would share the experence with our friends. The tea shop was gorgeous! The staff were very friendly and the food was marvelous. Even though the weather was drizzly and cloudy, we still had a good time! Overall, we loved the B&B and will be hopefully returning soon! Thanks!

We visited during a very wet weekend in the Autumn last year, in fact...so wet that there were flash floods and mountain rescue teams out! It was, thanfully, a freak storm and certainly not the norm in beautiful Borrowdale.

Staying at the Yew Tree Farm was a real treat. The wonderful creaking of the oak staircase, the delicious aroma of a heart breakfast (the porride is wonderful too!), the delightful cottage bedrooms with laura ashley floral linens. Oh.. i was in heaven!
Don't get me started on the delicious food in the tea rooms!

Visit in the rainy season for the best experience...the rain hitting your window while your all cozy inside is just wonderful!

My husband and I went to the lake district without booking any accommodation. We decided to take our chances. It was quite lucky that we got a room in the Yew Tree Farm B&B as we were told that the place was usually booked out throughout the year!

The house is very conveniently situated, right opposite of the "Flock in" tea room, which has a beautiful garden that you can have your morning tea in. The room is full of traditional English charm and very comfortably decorated. The breakfast is also very good using local produce and specially made black pudding sausage.

It was a shame that pets were not allowed and we had to leave our little silky terrier in the car when we were in. Otherwise it would have been perfect.
