The leaflet said "a warm welcome awaits you " & it does. We had a lovely nights stay on 20 April, The room was very warm & comfortable/ it had been a cold week so this was important. We were offered tea & cake when we arrived. The owners were very accommodating & were happy for us to get up early next day to pop out to see black grouse before breakfast! The breakfast was excellent. It is a very good location, close enough to Alston for evening meals etc. (about 3 mins. in car) and close to some excellent sites for rare birds like the black grouse. We did see quite a few black grouse on the nearby moors on the morning of 21 April. plus water voles on a beck & a red squirrel at killhope Mine. A very good weekend. Will definitely recommend this accommodation & hope to return soon.

Room Tip: Room upstairs well lit with lovely views

Myself and a group of friends have stayed 2 consecutive years at this guesthouse whilst doing the C to C on vintage mopeds. The word "guesthouse" doesn't do it justice!! No Battle Axe landlady here waiting up with a rolling pin! The food is excellent, served by two delightful waitresses, and we always have the evening meal, which is better than anything in Alston. The location is perfect. Spacious, homely, clean and welcoming, what more can you ask for. We will be staying again next year, and shall book soon.
Even if you just call in for the lovely food at the tearoom, you will not be disappointed.

Every year my friend and I book a week’s accommodation for a walking holiday. We select a remote area and enjoy daily circular walks of 7 to 10 miles. This year we were fortunate to select the gem of West Nattrass as our base. Being out all day we did not use the Tea Rooms, but the accommodation was first class. Stephen and Gina welcomed us with tea and cake on arrival and we decided to source all our food from them – both being excellent cooks. A full English Breakfast with eggs from the yard set us up each day. Substantial sandwiches for lunch were well filled with ham, cheese and tomato. But the greatest advantage for us was the evening dinner: high quality ingredients, beautifully prepared, and in generous quantity – ideal after a day in the hills. Over the week we became good friends and brought home many happy memories. If you only call in to the Tea Rooms, you are sure to have a welcome and the chance to sample Gina’s wonderful cakes and gateaux. It’s even worth going some miles out of your way – especially if you chance to be there when the two delightful young waitresses happen to be on duty.

Stayed at this lovely B&B during our C2C cycle. Received a warm welcome from Gina and Stephen when we arrived complete with a hot cup of tea and one of Gina's homemade cupcakes. Was absolutely delightful.

Our room was equally delightful - homely, spacious and comfortable with clean, good en suite shower.

If you've run out of shampoo like we did, Gina and Stephen were kind to help out.
When we left, Gina even gave us a couple take away cakes for the journey which were delicious after our cycle.

All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this B&B to others.

Stayed overnight while travelling to Keswick for my holidays. When I arrived I was given a very warm welcome and a very large pot of tea. The guesthouse was in a great setting just outside Alston. I slept like a log due to the quiet location. The breakfast was very very nice and ample. I have to say Stephen and Gina, the owners, were very welcoming and made me feel almost like a friend. I can't praise this guest house highly enough. I will definately stay again.
