Booked for 4.30 pm (Easter Sunday) but had a call that said they were running late- about half an hour. Turned up for 5 but still had to wait another 15 minutes for our table. Took that as a good sign - a popular place - and it was VERY busy. Service was generally good -but two of the four meals were dry and lacking flavour (don't order the lamb). However, the Rioja Riserva at nearly £20 a bottle was excellent. The disappointment came when we were about to leave. We had ordered a taxi but the bar was so busy that one of our party of four was still waiting and repeatedly asking to be given our bill when when two of us went out to the taxi so that it would not leave. The waitress chased my husband out to the taxi and told him he had not paid! How embarrassing! How rude! I don't know what kind of customers this pub is used to - we certainly won't go back to find out.
