A group of us celebrated a friend's special birthday here, and had a fabulous time. The castle itself is magnificent - out of a fairytale, set in beautiful grounds, and well placed for walking to one of the numerous local pubs. We walked to the Pheasant in Higher Burwardsley for lunch (which was lovely), then walked back in the afternoon and had a spa treatment at the Tranquility spa in the castle. The treatment was excellent ( I had a facial and body massage) We ate in the 1851 restaurant in the evening - the menu was quite small, but the food was very good indeed. The bedrooms are luxurious and comfortable. The staff were, without exception, friendly and helpful We had a fantastic stay, and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

We have visited and stayed at Peckforton castle on a number of occasions. It is one of the most stunning buildings around. The restaurant is gorgeous, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and the facilities (spa and pamper deals) are excellent. The staff are friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them. A lovely, romantic treat!

Driving to the castle itself was nice, driving through Mid summer type villages and lush green country side. The approach to the place is emmence, through a large gateway up a long twist road through a nice placid wood and then once at the top I was greated by the amazing looking castle...WOW it looked like a movie set.
Walking into the grounds i was met by a peacock (I call him Gary, long story) and then to a large array of birds of prey. To top this the place was covered in snow with a small light flurry coming down which made things that bit more magical.
Anway back to the hotel, Inside has just as much wow factor as the outside but with more character, true to its orgins showing stonwork & keeping all original features whilst delivering a modern luxary feel. I was away on business but so wanted my partner to be there!
I couldnt pick a fault for the price, Food was fantastic, wine was mmmmmmm, staff couldnt be more helpful, room was OMG, the whole package was very fairy tale and romantic. I most definitley will be returning!

Room Tip: No tips other than, take your partner with you!

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. Great to read that enjoyed all aspects of the Castle and that Gary, or as we call him, Perry the peacock (perhaps we can share stories on your return visit!) gave you a pleasant greeting. Look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit.

After visiting Peckforton Castle around 15 months ago it was clear this had to he the only venue for our wedding. The castle is magnificent and it was clear from looking around it was a well run, efficient operation. Throughout the planning of the wedding the wedding co-ordinator Poppy was always on hand answering a series of questions quickly and efficiently. Throughout the year we had a number of visits to the castle and the only confirmed what we had originally thought, this place was on the ball when it came to functions and weddings. The 29th March came - our wedding day, everything ran like clockwork (apart from the bride being a little late) but even this did not faze the staff, they still ensured everything was perfect. The venue is big and grand and accommodates a lot of people. We had 86 for our wedding breakfast, the food was served quickly and efficiently, the food was gorgeous and piping hot! A number of our guests commented on the beautiful food in our guest book... Think that shows that food was truly gorgeous! On our wedding day the sun shone and the snow melted it was truly a magical day, one that will last in people's memories forever. Thank you to all the staff at Peckforton castle who made our day such a success and special thanks to Poppy who catered for my every need including all the dietary requirements we had. This was all no problem! Thank you to the porters who helped move all the wedding boxes... There was a lot! Nothing was too much trouble! If you are thinking of booking your wedding here just go for it... You won't look back or regret it! It's a fairytale castle with fantastic staff! I can only imagine great things for Peckforton Castle in the future and we will be back! Thank you, Mr and Mrs Turner xxx

Based in a real castle, this hotel is a real treat!

The hotel is in the middle of the countryside so be sure to set your sat nav carefully before setting off.

Check in was very straight forward, and the staff were all really friendly.

The room was lovely, big comfortable bed with lots of pillows and a big-ish flat screen tv. The bathroom (like the rest of the hotel) was spotlessly clean and features a roll top bath along with a separate shower.

I had a bar meal for dinner, and the food was of a good standard, at reasonable prices, considering it was a castle in the middle of nowhere!

I was here with work, so the luxury was a little lost, but I suspect it won't be long till I'm back here with my wife for a nice weekend away!

This hotel is absolutely amazing, service food and the actual castle itself. I booked a DBB four poster bed deal through booking.com for my husbands birthday for £195 and it was worth every penny! I also paid extra to have a birthday cake and balloon in the room but it wasn't there on arrival which I was disappointed about. However after a quick phone call it was soon sorted. I would recommend this hotel for everyone as it is a class above alot of hotels.

Thank you for your review. Glad that you found the Castle, service and food to be amazing. My apologies that we didn't quite manage to get the balloons and cake in the room before arrival but equally glad that we rectified this very swiftly.
