“Great wedding”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2011

Stayed for my friends wedding, they have done an excellent job at hiding the fire damage,
Rooms were great but we ended up with a smaller room than some of the wedding party, even though it was the same price.

However it was still really nice
Breakfast was very good considering it was a buffet, still very fresh

Thank you for taking the time to write to us and for your kind words about the work we have done since the horrific fire. We do have the choice of upgrading rooms normally charged at a supplement per night which might suit your needs more on your next stay. Hope to see you again soon!

We held our daughter's wedding reception at Peckforton Castle on 12 August 2011 and we could not have been more delighted with the whole experience! From the planning, through to the day itself, staff could not have been more welcoming or helpful.
We were greeted by immaculately turned out staff, and served canapes and sparkling wine in front of the castle itself. In the Great hall our 86 guests enjoyed excellent food and wine at the wedding breakfast(and the dietary requirements of our guests were fully met); then we moved on to the Coach House and marquee for our evening entertainment, where once again the standard of food and service was faultless!
Winding down in the wine cellar bar and seeing the castle bathed in moonlight gave a magical end to a perfect celebration.
Those of us fortunate enough to be staying at Peckforton Castle enjoyed beautiful, comfortable rooms with high quality linen and toiletries. At breakfast we were met by welcoming staff who were also keen to ensure our stay and experience was as comfortable and positive as possible.
We will certainly be returning to Peckforton Castle and would be happy to recommend it to anyone!

My partner had booked this little stay over at the castle for what i thought was a lovely birthday treat.
On arrival i was blown away by how beautiful the Castle is and how lovely it was to see the amazing birds of prey sat in the grounds.
The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the room (Executive) was amazing.
That night we had a fabulous meal, the food was cooked to perfection! afterwards we took a stroll outside to see the castle all lit up, thats when my partner got down on one knee, it was so romantic in such a romantic setting i could not have asked for more.
We even got a nod of approval from the beautiful snowy owl.
The next day we were booked into the tranquility spa for an amazing his and hers deep tissue massage and a wonderful Elemis facial.
My whole stay at Peckforton Castle was so memorable for all the right reasons, and we will definitely think about having our wedding there.
Much love
Victoria, x

We were here for a business meeting and on arrival nothing was set up for it. Staff didn't know what they were doing and we were waiting around for tea/coffee to be sent to us - nothing was on time.

We had lunch there also, the food was really good, but we had to wait a long time for our starter and main courses to come, so by the time they came we had to wolf it down as our next meeting was starting in the following ten mins! So quite hard to appreciate the taste and quality of the food in front of us, when we had to eat it so quickly! No apologies for the delay I must add!!

Dear Julie

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience with us. I am terribly dissapointed to read that our service delivery was not as complimentary as normal. Conference and Events business is extremely important to us, I have discussed this review at depth with our events team in the hope of finding some more information on your event, but we have not. I would be grateful if you could contact me directly to discuss your experience at length, as your event was in January and no comments have been noted previously i am keen to resolve your issues.

We celebrated our Civil Partnership at Peckforton castle on 30th July. We fell in love with the place the first time we visited around 15 months previous. The staff were so polite and the food delicious. We decided to pull out all the the stops and book the Castle on the exclusive package for the day. When we arrived the day before our close family were so impressed with the food and the quality of the rooms. Then the big day came and everything ran like a dream, despite the recent fire. The staff all work so well together they are like a family, nothing is too much trouble. Attention to detail throughout the hotel is impressive. They are so polite and bend over backwards to make everything run smoothly. The sun shone, the owl flew down the aisle in the Great Hall with the rings (a truly magical moment), the ceremony was beautiful, the canapes and champage outside with a falconry display was impressive. The wedding breakfast food was delicious. The evening celebrations were astounding and the candle-lit cellar bar really provided a lovely relaxed end to the day. Our guests were so impressed, they all said its the best wedding they have ever been to. Worth double every penny it cost. We will be back, loads of times to reminise. If you are looking for a perfect venue for your big day - stop - you've just found it. If you want a night or two of good food in a beautiful settings with lovely rooms, Peckforton Castle is a must. Thank you to the Naylor family and all the staff, you helped make our Civil Partnership the best day of our lives.

Room Tip: The Tollmarche Suit and all the new rooms are very luxurious.

My Husband and I recently married at Peckforton Castle and what can we say, it was perfect, beautiful, amazing, fabulous, the list is endless. I started my stay with my parents and son the night before the wedding and from the minute we turned up the staff were attentive, helpful and nothing was any trouble to them. The wedding itself was run like clockwork and we had nothing to worry about as the whole of Peckforton did us proud. Obviously with the recent event the castle has had, my Husband and I did worry about what may of been but you wouldn't of known. We choose to carry on our stay with a 2 day mini honeymoon (child free of course!) in the Beeston Room and even though our wedding had been and gone the staff (again) continued to treat us like we were the only people there. To round things off if anyone out there is thinking of having a wedding or just a small break, Peckforton is the place we loved it so much we have booked our first anniversary there for 2 nights. Can't wait. Peckforton is truely sublime!!

The hotel is in a lovely location an is very picturesque and romantic. I managed to get a good deal on late rooms for a nice night away with my partner to celebrate our anniversary. The staff were very friendly throughout our stay, very helpful and polite. The room was clean and adequate and the bed was comfortable. For what is sold as a luxury hotel it looked a bit tired. My main complaint would be the food in the fine dining restaurant. I don't mind paying top dollar for a good meal but the food could best be described as style over substance. Very well presented but under seasoned. The sauce that came with my main course was VERY over reduced and was face-curling in it's bitterness. I would eat in the bar if I ever stayed again. As a smoker a covered outside area would also be appreciated for bad weather.
