“an enjoyable experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2012

Ideal if you have always fancied a go on a potters wheel. follow the guidance of the owner and you will produce an item to cherish!
wash facilities upstairs would improve the experience. The Romping Donkey is now closed. However, Lock 57 offers good quality food at a reasonable price. Would recommend it a family day out event. We will definitely return with the other grandchildren

“A good place to go to spend a couple of hours with the children”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2012

Potters Barn is a very good idea and the children enjoyed themselves. I felt however that there were some things which could make the experience better and a bit more personal. The customer service was a bit lacking, we sometimes felt we didn't know what we were doing, although one of the owners was helpful, the other was a little bit too stand offish. They could do with some hand washing facilities or cloths upstairs, not just downstairs.

To encourage families to stay longer and to make the experience more enjoyable they could offer tea and cake for example. I did see a poster for hot drinks but they were of the "British Rail" in a plastic cup variery.

Having said all this, it was good value for money, one of the owners was very friendly, the children made some very good "works of art" and I will definitely go back for a try of the potters wheel.

“Great for family activity”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2012

The owner was a wonderful, happy man with a good heart and a talent for working with children and parents. There is a pub close by called the Romping Donkey which serves good food and drink, so there is somewhere for you to go for lunch too.

The only issue that we had was with the lady that worked at the Potters Barn. She came across as rather rude and blunt!
