“Lovely but not cheap”

Went to this hotel for a nice relxing night stay and we definitely got that. The grounds are lovely to have a little amble and the surrounding area is beautiful.

The only downside was the cost. There was nothing so fantastically amazing to justify the pirces. For that reason I wouldn't come back unless I managed to find a cheap discounted deal

We stayed here recently for my partner's birthday and we were allocated the "lily" room. What a beautiful place. The hotel lives up to all of your expectations of a country home, and is truely special. Beautiful formal gardens, terraces and lakeside walks. The room was the best we have ever stayed in anywhere - lots of space and nice personal touches like maids calling at 8pm to bring cocoa! If you want somewhere special and romantic, dont look any further - we will definately be returning!

Stayed here for 1 night. Had lunch, dinner and breakfast. Food was excellent and staff very attentive. Lovely room overlooking the gardens. Fluffy bathrobes, huge bath and homemade cookies in the room. No noise to be heard from the rest of the hotel. Would definately return.

“Restful seclusion”

Nunsmere Hall Hotel

Oct 6, 2006

We stayed for two nights after a very late decision to get away for a weekend. Arriving at 10pm we managed to get settled in before having a nightcap and falling into a luxurious bed. Breakfast was superb with the excellent service and the wonderful gardens to overlook. We made a belated choice to eat on the Saturday evening and the staff couldn't have been nicer - squeezing us in on a busy night. The food was superb with the wild brown trout being beautifully prepared and delicious to taste. There was always someone on hand who couldn't do enough for us and it made for a wonderful stress free weekend of delightful pampering - really looking forward to returning in the very near future.

“Lovely place - a little lacking in service”

Nunsmere Hall Hotel

We've just returned from two nights there.
The room was beautiful, and the gardens good sized and pretty.
But, service was mediocre.
It's all a bit small print, but at this type of place it should be better
Nothing was bad, just a collection of annoyances.
Breafast - had to keep asking for toast and croissants.
Placed on a table, and then had strangers added. Very uncomfortable for all concerned
(there WERE tables, but staff couldn't be bothered to set them up)
Dinner - repeated requests for water which never arrived (although we were billed for it)
TV in room, poor reception (TV in toilet (!) excellent )- only the basic 5 channels and a PPV movie option
WiFi (very patchy, mail sites didn't work - didn't work in room) and difficult to find anyone who actually knew how to set it up (despite ads everywhere)
Charged for wine (and water) we didn't have.
Despite all this I made no complaints.
Asked to have an evning meal on final night, at 1pm in the afternoon. Told it was full.
No check of dining list,or request of time.
Difficult to feel we're likely to return, or suggest it to friends.
