My 13 year old son and I attended this attraction as participants and my wife came along as an observer (observer costs only £10, and gets the full experience other than handling the birds).
There were four others in the party aged from eight to sixty and we all had a fine time. Gary, the owner, is passionate about birds of prey and not only knew his subject very well, but was an interesting talker and friendly guide. We were able to handle many different types of birds of prey and even went for a walkabout with a couple of Harris Hawks, with them swooping down onto our gloved hands and getting their reward of a piece of meat.
The two hour session actually lasted for more than two and a half hours, but time seemed to zip by as the attraction was so absorbing.
The eight year old girl was as willing a bird handler as the rest of us, and it was clear that Gary has had plenty of experience working with young children.
Loads of photo opportunities.
Not far from J18 of the M6 motorway. However finding the place isn't the easiest, so I'd recommend anyone attending studies the Website directions (the Bird of Prey centre is part of the Stockly Farm complex alongside the stables).
Highly recommended for those with even a passing interest in birds, and particularly for family groups.
