“What a lovely play to stay.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013

We booked a nights stay at Woodcote Hotel when we planned an impromptu trip to Chester Zoo, and what a great experience. We were greeted with by a very friendly lady who was most helpful in helping us decide where to dine for the evening and showed us to our beautiful room. The bedroom was thoughtfully furnished and the ensuite spotlessly clean and modern.

Breakfast next morning was a great way to end our stay, as we received excellent service and a vast choice of breakfast options.

Couldn't recommend this hotel enough; thank you Woodcote!

Room Tip: Our room was situated next to the 'Secret Garden'.

We had our wedding here in August 2013. We had celebrated previous family events here and had always been impressed with the food and service. Leading up to the wedding and on the day, the Woodcote could not have done more for us. There wasn't a single guest that didn't comment on how beautiful the hotel was and how nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The hotel has a lovely family feel and I can't imagine anybody giving us a better wedding. Thank you so much!

We recently stayed here for my Uncle's 80th birthday celebrations. Both our daughters and their children also stayed here. All three rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The rooms were beautifully decorated and far exceeded our expectations.
Much thought and effort has gone into the decor throughout the hotel. Breakfast was served in a lovely sunny room and was delicious. A good choice of cereal, juices and dried fruits were followed by a great choice of hot breakfast fayre. The scrambled eggs were fabulous.
We also ate at Woodcote on the night of the 80th celebration. The food was wonderful, tasted delicious and was beautifully presented.
The staff were wonderful and didn't so much serve you but rather looked after you. Nothing was too much trouble. Special mentions to Sally and Stuart. A real credit to the hotel.
I would not hesitate to stay and eat at Woodcote again. Thank you all so much for a great weekend.

Room Tip: One of our daughter's had the Boudouir room, it was gorgeous!

We stayed at the Woodcote for 2 nights for a family member's 80th Birthday. My room was gorgeous and spacious (the 'Boudoir' room) and spotlessly clean; the bathroom was the same. I had my toddler staying in the same room and they provided a travel cot for her - there was ample space in the room for this.
Breakfast was delicious.
The staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them - they even made an earlier tea for the children in the group to eat as the 80th party meal was a bit late for the kiddies. Highchairs were always in position at tables before we ate.

Just a lovely hotel, very reasonably priced with great staff.

Room Tip: I stayed in the Boudoir room - beautiful room but could smell the kitchen from the en suite. Not a p...

I stayed here for a weekend with a friend for a wedding. The staff were friendly and were very welcoming and accommodating. The room was spacious and the bathroom was clean and tidy with towels provided. The beds were well presented although I found it was a little hard, but that's just my personal opinion and not a bad reflection on the hotel! It was easy to find and although we were preoccupied with the wedding and didn't really go anywhere else it seemed to be well located. We had breakfast on both mornings and there was a wide range of cereal or cooked breakfast and the muffin, bacon and scrambled eggs were delicious, so much so I had it both mornings!! The restaurants was well presented and light and airy. There was a bar also which seemed busy on the Friday night when we arrived but we did not use.

We stayed at the Woodcote Hotel for two nights as a halfway stay between our home and holiday destination in Cornwall. What luck we had finding this lovely hotel on Tripadvisor.
From telephone booking, staff couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant.
We stayed in one of the little cottage rooms and were so pleased with the décor, furnishing and situation at the bottom of the "secret garden". with its apple and pear trees,
Dinner was great, as was breakfast, particularly the creamy porridge.
I loved the eclectic décor and furnishings throughout, I also particularly liked the uncomplicated information booklet in our room about the hotel and places to visit. They have it just right, as most hotels seem to bombard you with visitor information.
Hooton station with links to Liverpool and Chester is a two minute drive away with an all day parking charge in a huge car park for 80p. Well done Wirral - environmentalists would be proud of you!
Thanks so much to John and the staff at this wonderful hotel for your kindness, and natural care from booking to checkout.

Room Tip: The little cottage room 18 is so quiet, with lovely décor.

Got a last minute bed and breakfast deal and myself and wife were thoroughly impressed. The hotel is about 20 minutes or so outside of Liverpool by car and located in a nice quiet area. The room was extremely clean and bed nice and comfy. The rear has a lovely garden which is well kept. Breakfast was again really nice. All the staff were more than willing to help. I Would highly reccomend this place.
